The combat is repetitive and clumsy. The controls are unresponsive and extremely limited due to "A button does EVERYthing depending on the situation" button mapping. The puzzles are easy, especially if you've EVER played a 3-D Zelda game, and most of them THROW hints at your face on how to solve them. The story had great potential to be amazing, but petered out halfway through and dissolved into the same old tale. There's still no voice acting. The music was glorified MIDI. By Gamecube standards, it was very pretty, but I wouldn't say any more so than Resident Evil 4. Finally, the game had an overall challenge level fit for a 5 year old. The bottom line is, Nintendo played it completely safe, added mild improvements to a game about 10 years old, and got by entirely on the fact that Zelda's in the title. Gamespot's written review was 100% objective and fair. The only reason they gave it the numerical score it did is because if they gave it an HONEST number, people wold riot, much like they did ANYWAY. If you think that mediocrity deserves an OMG GREAT score, then you don't deserve a next-gen console or new games...you clearly just want to play the same old tired crap you've been playing for a decade.
