You can tell who just read the topic title and went strait to posting their ignorant postInfinite-Zr0
You can always tell that someone who points that out just isn't ever wrong, and should never be disagreed with in this life and those that come thereafter.
To put in in perspective here are some 'sports' that are/were in the Olympics
Air Rifle, 95% Mental 5% physical. So there goes the, 'It needs to be athletic to be an Olympic sport'
Synchronized Swimming, Seriously? I mean how is this a sport? If this is a legetiment sport, than the Blue Man Group should make their own league.
Equestrian, Do the horses even win medals? Or just a bucket of carrots?
Race Walking, And it's exactly what it sounds like. A bunch of 20 and 30 year olds doing an activity reserved for 70 year olds. I had the 20k playing in the background last night, and the most exciting part was when one of the extreme walkers twisted his ankle on a water bottle.
Curling, you know that sport where some lady on the PTA yells and throws a huge stown on an ice bowling ally? It's like extreme shuffleboard.
Here are some 'sports' recognised by the IOC, the people who choose what sports are sports and are events in the Olympics
Ballroom Dancing. Who knew that all those guys on Dancing with the Stars are potential Olympians?
Pool/Billiard. Ya, thats pushing the human physique to its limit. I think you burn more calories playing Rock Band
Chess. I'll leave that at that.
Skijoring, And yes, thats what it's really called.
Bridge, you remember that card game grandma taught you?
Korfball, this is basically broke ass elementary school basketball. Basically a bunch of rugby rejects huddle around a wicker basket on a poll so they can throw a soccer ball in it.
Sled dog racing. I guess it wouldn't be a sport if you just yelled at your dog. I think the sport part comes from whipping them when they go to slow.
Netball, Looks like it's exactly like korfball, but they graduated from the wicker basket to an real basketball hoop.

You should chill the hell out, dude. I don't get why everyone is so rilled up about this topic. I would much rather someone who plays Korfball be considered an athlete, then someone who stares at a screen and presses buttons for 6 hours straight and calls it "training." I love playing videogames, but lets not make it like it's a skill at which to be marveled.
Gaming already has a league. Leave it alone already.
[QUOTE="TheEscape15"][QUOTE="THE_DZA"]I think a mature discussion about this subject is the #1 hardest thing to acheive on the internet. Broken studies, parents and parenting groups that have very little education on the subject, and frothing gamers that refuse to hear word one that might be critical of the hobby.TheForgotten0ne
Since I've joined, that was probably the smartest and truest thing I've heard in these forums.
Not to be rude, but you haven't exactly been a member for a so long time now have you? But then again, I agree that it's one of the smarter things I have read.
But most things are hard to discuss on the internet, it's way easier to say your own opinion about it. And it's easier to lie!
True. I have only been a member fooorrrr... Errr... What is it? Four days now?
