Thanks for the help. I was hoping to try and get the most out of the card a get up to a 1900 res or more and make the most of the card but if its gonalook worse I dont need to worry and hopefully make the most of the card running at max for a longer period in the future. As for the 850w power supply I dont mind comments and to answer the question I had my pc pre built and this was the power supply provided by the company. I was worried about a lack of it but this will definatly give me room to play with at a later date. As for the mobo I have no idea what that will be until the machine comes unfortunatly.

Just as an after thought will I still be able to run games at max on 1600x1200 with a dual monitor set up if I go that way. Also im a bit confused as to what a decent widescreen res is. Should i keep it at 1600x1200 or go with 1600x10??. Ty

I will Hopefully be getting an Athlon64 X2 6000. 2GB 667DDR2, 640MB 8800GS, Creative SoundBlaster X-FI Xtreme Audio total cost will be about £940. What will the performance be like compaired to the old one and can anyone give me a rough guess at what the framerates might be like at 1600x1200. Can I max games like Oblivion and TDU. I also recenlty got a nice 20inch Philips widescreen TFT so I cant wait to try all my games out as they are ment to be seen.

Ur 450w power supply is unfortunatly not going to be good enough. 600w-650w minimum would be better for you.

I've got very similer machine to you except with 1.5gb ram and a geforce 5900Xt. From what ive been reading the faster it is generaly the better it will be. Personaly im going for an athlon 64 X2 6000 and a 640Mb 8800Gs. I dont know if the programs ur be using will make the best out of the quad core but stand alone I would say its better. Getting decent memory and using what ur machine can handle would help. All depends on what you can aford.

I all I was wondering if there were any new RPG's due to come out soon. I'm a massive fan of them and have a decent collection of them. Since Oblivion, NWN2 & Gothic 3 there seems to be a real lack of them around. I'm fortunate that im hoping to getting a new rig to replace my 3yo one so I can get a lot more out of the games I have. I havent been aware tho of any new games in development or that are due for release soon. Can anyone tell me if there is anything coming out that I could get hold of.

Had an Atari 2600 that my dad used to let me use as a kid. I think the first computer I didnt have to share was an Amiga 500+ with 2MB Ram and a 20MB HD. My first pc was baought 3rd hand and was a Packard Bell had an Intel Celeron 700 processor, 64MB pc100 Ram, Onboard graphics card and an 8GB HD that was about 5 yrs ago I was a late bloomer to pc's.

I think so yes its has a lot of depth to it and is a gem in terms of modern gameplay. Graphics aint all if there is no meat and SR2 has a lot of that to it.

Oldest and best game I love playing is Frontier Elite 2 released in 1993. Ok the graphics are very dated but the gameplay is on par and with modern games and in some way beats em by some miles. Greatest game of all time and still playable on todays pc's
