@Tseng @TheGamerPhenom Well . . . I feel like WE know this. And while the devs, and as you said, more importantly Microsoft/Sony know about it . . . how much are they going to pay attention to it? I felt like he raised valid points because ultimately Sony/Microsoft are still going to have to deliver on these fronts, and that isn't a guarantee. Far from it, in fact if you ask me. Maybe it's not exactly front page, headline news, but it's interesting to read his opinions nonetheless.
@Tseng @DeViLzzz Yep. The Wii-U and it's current failings are more because Nintendo is still against making a decent console more than a crappy economy. If what you make is crap, then people aren't going to buy it, even in a good economy . . .
@Tseng I doubt he is trying to make too much of it. He was likely asked a question in a interview about his thoughts on the upcoming consoles, and so he gave them. I can't really blame him, because as stupid as he was at EA, he's mostly right in this case.
@DeViLzzz Not if it's good. Price isn't going to hurt as much in a slowly stabilizing economy if the product they release is as good as they're being hyped up to be.
@lilnazar Meh. He screwed up royally with EA during his tenure there, but he came in with solid ideas and concepts. How much of what happened at EA is on him we may never know, but I'd be willing to gamble that he was the major reason for EA's drastic change into a crappy company.
Oh the irony of the former head of EA actually making sense on this kind of topic . . .
But in all seriousness, he's right on almost all points. This console generation has all kinds of potential to not only bring back many of the disinterested gamers that appeared due to the weak endings of the current generation, but to also bring in many new gamers and increase revenue all around.
But it also has the chance to go up in a massive flame if Sony/Microsoft don't get this at least close to right. Just as a gamer personally, I know I've gotten pretty tired of a lot of things going on recently. And if this next generation gets off to a rough start, I don't know how dedicated I'm going to be to gaming. But a good start, and some good interest at the upcoming announcements could bring me back full force. Just my two cents.
@dillon-peters @blueboxdoctor I'm expecting a few exclusives. I can't imagine them not having at least a few. And they'll be as good as ever if I had to guess.
@blueboxdoctor Agreed. If they can hit most of the things you put here, I think they'll consider it a strong success. I'm simply ready for all of the rumors and speculation to be over with, so that we can finally see the real deal in action a bit.
@dillon-peters And that'll be the case for a lot of people I'm sure. Lots of the guys I know refuse to buy a PS3/PS4 because they can't stand the controllers, and can't stand a lot of the specs/console exclusives bound to it. I personally enjoy both, and I'm not too bothered by either controller, so I'll eventually swing getting both more than likely.
@grognard @TheGamerPhenom @Adavanter @unreal101 @awhite33 And that is how I approach it, haha. Keeps her from getting too pissed off about some things.
