@tarheelsforever: What goes around comes around, if you don't like people dishing out jabs at you why start at all? All in good fun, eh?

As for ID, far too much evidence point to the cumulative effect of lifestyle factors on one's intelligence. Food, drugs illicit and otherwise, quality of sleep, physical activity, social and instilled habits are but some of the readily observed factors that make for either a sharp mind or a dull one.

The ceiling, genetics will always determine, but far more IDs exist in spite of genetics rather than because of. And I reckon it doesn't take a doctor such as yours truly to see that, you just need to open your eyes and observe people and how they're living their lives.

@tarheelsforever: Don't smoke, don't drink. Never did. Parents ditto. They done a good job bringing me up, and the least I can do is raise children who don't become junkies or alcoholics or retards suffering from Fetal Alcohol Syndrome. Sad how one can't make a comment without a junky asking for pointers to diversify their daily fix, in a Gaming website no less.

@tarheelsforever:

Whoever claims only casuals play one series and not the other can't be taken seriously. I remember making the switch to FIFA 12 when most of my friends were adamant and sticking with PES 2012. Reason? It had the better gameplay, and I never regretted it one bit. Played FIFA until 2016. Last year it was obvious PES was gaining momentum and gave FIFA a serious challenge. But I didn't take the plunge because of the dreadful goalies, despite FIFA 16 having its own issues. The latest iteration though has most of the 2016's problems fixed, and the gameplay is simply superb and refined, new bar's been set.

The AI, tactical depth, execution, physicality and overall feel for the game is just superior to EA's offering, by a good margin, and I'm switching back to PES because of it. Don't care about offline modes, never had and prolly never will. It's football simulation I'm after and PES has FIFA easily beat when it comes to that.

FIFA vs PES is like Honda Accord vs Mazda 6. The Accord ticks more boxes and appeals to the average buyer, whilethe Mazda owns the driving dynamics and fun to drive categories and naturally is the enthusiasts choice.

On any platform other than PC (just to spite Konami) give me the game sporting the better gameplay and this year it's PES, really no brainer.

No point in including PC version. Not only are high-end PCs untouchable in terms of GFX quality, but the variability in quality depending on hardware specs and software tweaking is ginormous.

All of these are 3rd-person adventure titles, that stress metaphorical and atmospheric ventures into serene worlds where you piece together the story through exploration, and all are short in content with major emphasis on eliciting emotions through a narrative that is open for interpretation. Please play those titles and see for yourself if you're still skeptical about my claim. Like I said the game is hardly original, if adding multiplayer to the mix is what makes it unique in this day and age then so be it. That still doesn't qualify it as superior to other nominees in my opinion. You could argue that it has better mechanics, graphics and soundtrack than those titles similar to it, which certainly makes it better. However, that hardly justifies propelling it to GOTY status given the totality of the package which I personally find egregiously lacking.

Journey is nothing new. Titles like The Path, Dear Esther and that interactive title where you are an old man visiting a cemetery have been around for years. If this is the best gaming industry has to offer in '12 then games have definitely regressed. I mean it's just asinine to even think of comparing a GOTY-winning title like Journey to accolade-winning games of the last decade like The Longest Journey, Grim Fandango and Planescape Torment.

I agree with the comments about the comparison being possibly misleading off tiny and uncalibrated pix. You have to actually SEE and PLAY the game on each platform at their recommended resolution/setting in order to properly assess how they stack against each other. Of course, a HD or MaxDef 60FPS (near)lossless video comparison would've been much more helpful, but that's expecting too much from GS now isn't it..
