Okay, thanks. Very quickly: does anyone have any suggestions for a good graphics card (or at least what to look for in one)? The last time I bought an installable graphics card was 10 years ago when I did way more PC gaming. Thank you.

[QUOTE="TheManTheManMan"]Wait, I thought this would have at leat 3GB of video RAM, a 4.1 pixel shader version, 4.1 vertex shader version. Shouldn't that well surpass the requirements?wis3boi
its an onboard graphics chip designed for basic PC use and web surfing and watching videos. It has no ram of it's own, it's using your system ram as memory

But shouldn't my system RAM be fine to support it with 8GB?

Okay, so the graphics card must be dedicated to graphics processing? I guess I really don't understnad much about video cards anymore. How do people play this on their laptops, then? Do you have any suggestions? I would really rather not spend than $30, but eBay is my best friend.

I have no ide if I am posting this in the right place, but here is my question: I typically don't play games on my PC, but I am no dumby about what the setting mean and what not. However, I cannot for the life of me make Dear Esther run without lag. AMD Athlon II X4 650 Processor, 3200 Mhz, 4 Cores, 4 Logical Processors 8GB of RAM ATI Radeon HD 4200 graphics card that came on the motherboard (but should be pretty good) 1920-by-1080 60hz 32 bit/pixel monitor (huge- I think it's 22 in. diagonal) Shouldn't this be more than enough to run Dear Esther? I set my settings to low, but there is still a lag. To be clear: I push the w key, about 0.3-0.5 seconds later, I move forward in the game. This is unacceptable. I know PC gamers do not put up with this. I discovered that if I set my resolution down to very low, the lag is significantly reduced, but still present. I should not have to set my resolution down, should I? Also, I have turned VSync off. So, what should I do, and does anybody have recommended settings for me?
