Like Alan Wake? ;)

I think Alan Wake was mostly hyped for its graphics - which it failed to meet :) . Gameplay wise, no one was really sure what we were expecting, so it was harder to hype the game as a whole.

Anything less than AAA would be shocking. I have confidence it will live up to the hype.

To an extent, I agree. However, the delay makes me worried that the devs have run into technical difficulties. The other issue with a long dev cycle such as this is that you have to keep patching the engine to take into account advancement in technology. Some engines are easily patched (source engine etc), but others can start getting a little messy. Oh well, hopefully only a few more months.

Doesn't change the fact that the story of the game blows and it all felt like something we've played a thousand times before. "Protect the convoy" wow really??

But yeah, it looks awesome. A shame they focused too much on graphics though..

Yeah that needs improvement! But take a look at what they delivered when you count the entire game. I don't think they focused too much on graphics. It was a refinement of the basics of the genre. MP being the super highlight IMO. It was the single player design and story that was lackluster :(.

The multiplayer was also a little too swallow IMO. It could've been so much better. I'm not saying the game is bad but i surely could've been better all around. Hopefully we'll see improvements in Killzone 3. :)

I thought multiplayer was pretty much perfect, although vehicles would have been a nice touch... and not hard to implement either..

Yeah, the story is a bit limp... well, the backstory is very interesting, it's just the game assumes you played and loved Killzone 1. Overall the story is passable for an action game. That said, some of the voice acting makes me want to cry. Worst line ever is when, after taking down a big armoured badie, one of your squad shouts "you really got that big motherf****r"... sounds like some type of porno movie...

No it's worse than your average action story. Exepct for maybe Gears of War 1 (havent played the sequal). The voice acting were poor and the characteres even worse. It's such a shame, because as you mentioned the backstory is in fact quite interesting and it's intriguing knowing that although the Helghast are greedy they arent the bad guys in this story. I'm playing through MGS: Portable Ops now and even though I hate the controls and the stages are a bit meh the cutscenes are awesome with really good voice acting and makes you want even more. I'm baffeld why so few developers think about this.

Agreed, the game even hints that the real badies might be you, but never really develops this idea, which could have been very interesting. I hope Killzone 3 lets you play as the Helghast... imagine being able to see what they are really like.

GT5! Can you imagine if when this game comes out it gets anything less than AAA!!?? Hell, with the amount of time fans have been waiting, this game almost needs to be AAAA.

[QUOTE="TREAL_Since"]The game is just off the chain when it comes to shooting and MP. Period :P. It won best shooter, competitive multiplayer, and sound design last year for a reason :D. I think it should have won best graphics over Uncharted 2 as well. I want to play it again but my cousin has my copy :(... It's so satisfying and fun it makes you want to play just to shoot **** lol. They def. need to focus on the story, characters, and more single player content in Killzone 3 though. A more unique approach to the campaign in general. There'a room for alot of additions and improvement!

Yeah, multiplayer is VERY solid. Because it is not as fast paced it puts some people off, but I think it is up there with MW and Halo 3.

I bought it a few days ago. I love it, the only problem is for me is the painfully slow aiming.

The aiming kind of suits the gameplay IMO. Remember, its a cover based FPS, and slow and careful progression is preferred...
