This week's theme (Boredom, Time's Up, You Tear Me Up, Breakdown and Lester Sands (Drop in the Ocean)) was from the first Buzzcocks session, recorded in 1976. Four tracks were released at the time, on the first independently published single of the UK punk movement. I bought a bootleg tape of the session in 1982, and tracked down a rare bootleg album (on two 45 r.p.m. vinyl discs) the following year, and bought it again on CD when it was finally offically released in 1991. The bitterness, hopelessness, rage and humour of Devoto's lyrics still entertain today. Today's blog is dedicated to my own Lester Sands.
