its amazing how these guys just don't seem to get it. When I turn on my gaming console I just want to play games! I don't want a camera that only can be paused to be collecting my data for advertisement purposes, I don't want to use my console to watch tv, and I don't want my interface cluttered with ads when trying to navigate. Call me old school but I simply buy consoles to play games!
@BorgMind00 @TheRaiderNation cellphones and gaming consoles are completely different. Cellphones by nature our designed to be "always on" so you can be reached by family and friends. Cellphones are useless if they aren't always on. Conversely gaming consoles serve no benefit from being "always on" other than updating while you are sleeping. I have been able to play games for years without being always on now. Why do I need to be always on? Give me a benefit. If there is a benefit to being always on, why isn't Microsoft telling us/
@BorgMind00 @TheRaiderNation Software has always been purchased through digital downloads while this is a more recent method of buying games/software on consoles. That is the difference. You give people choices and they will eventually on their own transition from physical to digital games. You DON'T close the door however on choices this early in the game. Technically all cellphones are "always on" by this logic
@BorgMind00 @TheRaiderNation Comparing smartpones and home gaming consoles is like comparing apples with oranges. I agree, you can't deny apple has completely dominated the smartphone industry with the iphone which offers a restrictive iOS. I have an Android but my gf has an iphone!
Gamers (and consumers for that matter) like choices. You aren't going to win people over by saying "You can't do this" and "You can't do that" and "You must do this" and "You have to do that" AKA DRM, required online check-ins, no used game support, having to jump through hoops to share a game online, etc
@Khasym @TheRaiderNation I agree with you, its why I never get involved with "fanboyism". I will buy what I feel is the best deal in gaming console wise. I went from PS2 to 360 to now PS4
@assaslin @TheRaiderNation At this point I don't care if the retract their policies, damage is done, I am riding never gen out on the PS4. From what I saw in E3 coverage, Sony is not going to disappoint with their software line up. I'll survive without Halo
