The other day I posted about the video game drought I'm in right now. I noticed a lot of people complain about the length of Heavenly Sword despite the fact that it's the same length as Uncharted. Why is it Uncharted gets so much praise while Heavenly Sword is condemned because it's short? It doesn't makes any sense to me.
People used to play games based on something called a story and entertainment value. Now a days while production values are up and the software can run much better well everything suddenly everyone wants length in their games. Yes, some games where long. They were called RPGs and most of them are still pretty long.
Doesn't anyone remember the original Super Mario Bros? It's possible to beat in under two minutes. Or how about Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of time, that one can be beaten in about one sitting.
I think people need to appreciate how a game plays and the story it tells. A good deal of games today play like blockbuster movies. They have amazing visuals, voice acting, and stories. People need to look past length and focus on what counts.
Well I don't want to bore you anymore (not that anyone reads this anyway). Until next time, Peace.
