GregK's a slacker

Oh the irony. I was browsing through his profile and found that pretty funny when I was looking at what he's contributed to GameSpot, according to the site code of course Nothing I guess. In the nearly 10 years he's been here, he's done nothing. What a slacker.

When you ask someone who they respect most in the gaming industry, they'll probably throw out some Japanese name. Or say a development house like it's a person. Or maybe even a character in a game. For me, it's Greg Kasavin.

I'll usually skim through each Freeplay entry. But if it's Greg writing, I'll read the entire thing carefully. It was the same way when they used to do good old GameSpotting. I respect what Greg has to say tremendously. In the very rare situations that I disagree with his rating of a game, I still respect what he's said. Hell, sometimes I just say "Okay, I'm wrong, he's right" and go on my way. In my opinion, he's simply the best at writing reviews and doing video reviews on the GameSpot staff. Or the entire web. His knowledge of both past and present games is pretty astonishing.

It's almost embarassing... actually, it is embarrasing, how much I respect Greg and how highly I regard his opinion. He's not my role model, and he hasn't inspired me to become a video game journalist. But he has at least persuaded me into respecting the hell out of every word that comes out of his mouth by proving his experience, knowledge, and love of his field.

Three cheers for GregK!
