No actual facts, huh? Kinda like your first post. Got any links to an encyclopedia or reference book?FalcoLX
That news report was incomplete. It never stated whether or not those that smoked marijuana also smoked tobacco; also cancer of that sort is generally genetic. Truth be told, that's [probably] just more propaganda, because research is funded, and they wouldn't be researching the negative effects of marijuana were it not for the fact that someone wanted them to be doing it.

That's a terrible excuse. You wouldn't be hanging out with kids who do harder drugs if you didn't smoke weed. You wouldn't buy from a dealer that sells hard drugs, if you weren't buying weed. Kids who have smoked weed are 174 times more likely to try cocaine then those who didn't. That, my friend, is not a coincidence. -Cranium

Your assumptions are terrible, and incorrect. First of all, I have a friend who is helplessly addicted to cocaine, but has never smoked marijuana in his life. He has plenty of friend who have never touched a drug in their lives, either.

I'm not exactly sure what your point is about buying marijuana from a dealer with harder drugs is. That's one of the benefits of making it legal; getting it away from the people who also sell hard drugs. Do you think people are growing coca plants in their living rooms? No, they're not. Cocaine is almost always available specifically through drug dealers, and they're not going to continue to sell marijuana as well if it's been legalized. Why would they? They couldn't profit off of it.

Your argument towards marijuana smokers being more likely to use cocaine is invalid because it's slured by the fact that you wouldn't be introduced to cocaine in the first place if it weren't for the issue of marijuana being on the black market. I'm not sure where you're pulling your precentage from, but it's statistically shown that only 1 out of every 104 marijuana users uses cocaine, and most of them were introduced to it by a dealer, not fellow pot-smokers.

My source? The Union; what's yours?

First one that comes to my mind is Dandelion Gum by Black Moth Super Rainbow. What a great band name. :P

What are you favorites?KLAX42

I love BMSR, you should check out Taradactyl, they're newly formed and are just about to have their first CD release party.

Check them out; but I give you fair warning that their MySpace layout is disgusting. Sozial Ungeschickt is a great song.

I play a bit of acoustic and electric guitar, and I've recently become quite interested in the violin and chapman stick.

If God made himself known, I would aknowledge His existence, and I would respect Him for what He is. I would not worship him, however, because I see no reason to worship anyone or anything out of fear.

This thread's poll is referring to the Christian god; it should be mentioned that there are many other religions and many other gods from which one might believe in. Take for example, the idea of Deism. Quite a few of you are discussing the idea that the Christian god can not exist because he shows no sign of himself, and no love to his creations. The idea behind Deism is that some deity created the universe, and then simply walked away from it (metaphorically speaking of course, as you can't actually walk away from existence). Basically, Deism is often looked at as a clockmaker who has crafted his most exquisite clockwork, wound it up, and walked permanently away from it. Just because you don't agree with the idea of the Christian religion, and other similar religions, doesn't mean you should be so quick to dismiss other ideas without taking a moment to think about the alternative possibilities. I would like to quickly add that I am an atheist, but I do enjoy philosophy, and as such the ideas behind religion are quite interesting to provoke. As for me, I have looked at quite a few religions from different angles, and have come to the conclusion that I can simply not believe in any kind of deity. I never have been able to, and I likely never will be able to.

I never have, nor will I ever be a theist. I think organized religion is silly, and I have never had the desire to be a part of any of it; I do however live and let live. The life and beliefs of another person are of little interest to me outside of the people I care about.
