Hello fellow Pokemon trainers.
My name is Tom, I live in Larvengong Village, located in South Hino region.
I come from a long legacy of fighting dojo masters.
My family trains fighting Pokemon for decades.
Every new generation of students is trained with fighting Pokemon from a very young age.
Each of the trainers receives a random egg of a fighting Pokemon when he is seven years old, and starts training it under the supervision of the current dojo master.
As the trainers advance, they earn belts, and the Pokemon earn headbands.
Once a trainer earns the highest rank belt and headband, the dojo master registers him to the Hino region fighting master challenge.
It’s a special event, which is exclusive to the Hino region.
In it, Fighting Pokemon trainers go through four fighting Pokemon dojos, located in different places on the region, in order to challenge the dojo masters for the dojo symbol.
After a trainer wins all four dojo symbols, he can participate in the annual Pokemon martial arts tournament for the chance to win the champions belt.
The trainer who wins in the world tournament, can challenge his dojo master to a special leadership battle.
In case the challenger wins, he can replace the current dojo master until he is defeated in another leadership battle.
Where do I fit in here you ask?
Tomorrow is the day I’m taking my last test on the way to highest rank belt, which is the black belt. Well... at least I’m supposed to.
The dojo master, which is my grandfather, refuses to test me because my Pokemon is not a fighting type.
I know, I know... I told you every trainer in my family receives a fighting type, but my story is different:
When I was seven years old, about a week before I was supposed to receive my first Pokemon, I went to play in the river near my town.
After a while, I heard cries from the sky, I looked above and saw two Fearow fighting each other.
One of them was holding an egg, but dropped it because the other Fearow attacked.
I caught the egg and escaped, the Fearow tried to attack me in order to take the egg back. I kept running until I saw a cave and run into it.
I waited until it was dark outside and returned to my village.
I decided to hide the egg in my backpack so no one will take it away from me.
For the next week, I took care of the egg all of the time, I never left my backpack alone.
I hoped a non fighting type will hatch from it, so I'll be able to go on a Pokemon journey like ordinary trainers do.
Competing in the Hino Pokemon League and becoming a master trainer was my dream since I was a little child.
Anyways, the day when me and 17 other trainers were going to get a fighting starter Pokemon has arrived, all of the kids came to my grandfather's house in order to receive an egg.
Thirty Pokemon eggs were available to choose from.
Grandpa called one kid at a time, the kid picked an egg and returned to his place.
Grandpa picked me last. I approached the eggs and stood in front of them, I hesitated, and just when I decided which egg to take, my backpack started glowing in a bright white light. I opened the bag and couldn't believe my eyes! A baby Squirtle was staring at me! I took him out of the bag. He smiled and sprayed me with his Water Gun attack.
I started laughing while everybody else were shocked, especially grandpa.
Well... he was more furious then shocked.
"What is the meaning of this?" He asked. I stood in front of him speechless. I was afraid he will take Squirtle away from me. "Answer me!" he yelled. I had no idea what to do.
My father approached and asked him to calm down.
Then he told me to explain how I got the Squirtle.
I told them what happened. Grandpa stared at me with a scary look in his eyes the whole time.
After I finished the story I asked my dad if I can keep Squirtle.
Grandpa barged in: "No, I won't allow this! For centuries, every member in our family trained a fighting Pokemon, no one will break our family tradition!" "I'll train my Squirtle to be a fighter, I'll teach it martial arts!" I said in despair "Nonsense, only fighting Pokemon can learn fighting techniques!" Grandpa replied.
"I’m sure it can, give us a chance, I promise I'll do anything you tell me to do, we will be your best students." "Come on father, look at the determination in his eyes, at least think about it." Dad said to grandpa.
He stood there for a minute, and then he said: "Students, I'll see you in class after all of eggs hatch, take good care of them." Then he turned around and walked out of the room.
He stayed in his room for three days, a then on the forth, he called me to see him.
I entered his room. He said I can keep Squirtle if I train it to be a fighter. That moment was the happiest in my life.
Then grandpa added that our training will be much more difficult then the rest of the students.
"Thank you grandpa, I promise we will do our best!" I said.
For seven years, me and Squirtle learned martial arts, passed all of the tests and earned all of the belts and headbands except for the highest rank black belt and headband.
Squirtl's agility and self defense became incredible, he was the strongest Pokemon in the dojo.
I trained Squirtle to use his natural abilities every morning before class, resulting in a very powerful mix of special and physical abilities.
Now, its time for me and Squirtle to take the most difficult challenge and try to earn the black belt and head band. If we succeed, I'll ask his permission to compete in the Hino Pokemon League instead of the Hino region fighting master challenge. But grandpa said he's not sure I can take it, because the test is held in the Shihan Cave, where no Pokemon type other then fighting has entered. Grandpa refuses to allow Squirtle to enter. So unless dad can convince him to change his mind, I'm afraid I won't be able to start my journey.
In case grandpa allows it, I’m taking the challenge tomorrow. so wish me luck, and hope for the best.
