I've lived in a lot of different places, from Los Angeles to Denver to a small town of less than 1,200 people. When the nearest Wal-Mart and the ever-so-delicious Big Mac are over sixty miles away, you know you're roughin' it.
Gaming in this community is like indoor plumbing - people here have heard of it, but they're still loathe to try it. It makes for some lousy late-night gaming sessions. That's why I'm excited that high-speed Internet access is finally available here. 56k modems are still considered to be new-fangled gizmos, akin to automobiles and cleanliness. The extremely ridiculous price I'm paying for it is irrelevelant. Finally, at long last, I was bound to hook up with gamers all over the world....
...except for one little detail. I have to find a new place. I don't drive, and the only apartment complex in town is over a mile from work. This big boy doesn't walk that far without a darn good reason. So, with a heavy heart, I have to give up my quest for high speed Internet access for the moment. As Nick Bottom so eloquently put it, "Alack, alack, alack."
