@Printul_Noptii Why not get the HD collection?

And whether it's worth it or not is not the case, if you want it you have 3 options -- PS2, HD Collection, or Emulation.

As someone who did all 3 options, I can tell you this -- HD Collection if you have PS3/X360, if not, Emulation all the way. PS2 will just give you a blurry mess and 30fps.

@sortajan MGS1 and MGS2 are available on PC.

MGS3 can be achieved through emulation.

MGS4... Well, that's the one you need to understand Rising, and to understand MGS4, you need the previous games.

So you got the previous games, but MGS4 ... Welp, you need a PS3.

@RabidBurp You probably won't see those.

MGR is being ported because of Konami, not Platinum.

@PeterDuck @TohouAsura And yours is based on high horse moral.

All I hear from you is "It's wrong! It's bad! You're wrong because it's bad".

NOPE. You also make the same mistake everyone else makes, by looking at downloads as potential sales.

Who is it that downloads these games, you think?

Sure, there are definately cheapskates who just want free games. But not all. Not even close.

Most of the known world does not live in first world class quality. FACT.

Alot of those people pirate, because they have no other means or it is too pricey for them to buy these games. Theoretical Evidence.

What your logic says : "Welp, they don't all give use their money for using our materials, let's FORCE them to!"

Peopel aren't so simple. Sure, maybe you'll convince the cheapskates to buy, but what about those that can't afford these games?

You know what would happen? Nothing. They won't buy the games, because they have no means to, the devs won't get any money, since no one is buying), and people missed out on a good game.

"millions of people download it without wasting barely of any resources"

Lies, you risk yourself by uploading material. And visit a torrent site. Come back and report to me how many leeches and seeds you found on average for a game. Not anywhere near a million.

If you want to look at it from the developer's viewpoint, I find it hard to imagine a developer would rob people of the chance to play their creation. Money is important, but if you love your craft, you'll want to make it known to everyone, no? So there's your high horse moral.

@senjutsu Not as much, no.

The ratio depends on the games. In very popular games, the ratio can vary from 1:3 to 1:10. For less popular games, between 1:5 and 1:15

Not an accurate assessment, but a rough idea of it. Piracy is still prevalent in consoles very much because even though PC piracy is considered easier to get away with, the intial buy-in cost of a PC makes console piracy an ideal choice for people with very little money.
