[QUOTE="full_disclosure"]I think it's the PC fanboy's upset with Bethesda for bring the elderscroll series to consoles. Then doing the same with Fallout. Now anything they make hermits will relentlessly attack! Oblivion is a great game period. Don't let these coke bottle glasses wearing fanboy's in their mothers basement influence you in anyway...PLEASE!full_disclosure

That isn't it at all man. Oblivion is casual to RPG gamers. Have you played any hardcore RPG's before?

I played and loved Morrowind. I personally think oblivion is alot better. If you're talking about PC specific RPG's then no, but what exactly makes them "HARDCORE"?

Staying in character and actually roleplaying it. Planescape: Torment is probably the most hardcore roleplaying game I have actually played. The roleplaying in that game is verging on the philosophical.

I have the PC and Xbox360 versions.

The Dark Brotherhood quests are decent. The main storyline has high production values. It really needs better roleplaying and level scaling done away with. Otherwise I suppose it's fine.

I hate most Sony adverts to be honest. Good enough examples have already been posted in this thread.

I have gained interest in Mushroom Men. Deadly Creatures? I don't know what to think yet.DireOwl

IMO from what we have seen Deadly Creatures has some of the best atmosphere this year. Check this video out.

[QUOTE="Tony-Harrison"]

I do realize that Wario Land isn't hyped as much as LBP. LittleBigPlanet is a casual platformer with hardcore editing tools, while Wario Land is a proper platformer.

Zassimick

I don't understand why you decide what designates a proper platformer. Collecting things, jumping around obstacles, I figured both of those and more were what platformers were all about.

I sincerely do believe that LittleBigPlanet offers a rather more shallow platforming experience than Wario Land once you get past the customization.

Tony-Harrison

Why should the customization be ignored? The customization is part of what will make the platforming a fresh experience most of the time when you play the game which is a good thing. This game will also offer puzzle elements, which I think could end up pretty cool for a platforming genre.

I can't stand the hype for LittleBigPlanet. The game is aweful and nobody has said it. There's no platforming gameplay besides Jump, Jump, Jump, Jump.

As a platform game it's RUBBISH!

Tony-Harrison

Maybe that's because everyone is impressed by it and no one thinks it is awful, at least the people who have said good things and have played it. Not that hard to comprehend.

Its a good looking game. Just learn to like both and stop hating a game just because its not on Wii or because it is on the PS3.

The customization is very good. Everyone in this thread has acted as though you can create anything you want in the editor though, but you can't. Whatever you create in LBP will be shallow compared to Wario Land.

Captain Rainbow

Screens

SER69

That game looks really really weird. You can see a trailer here.

(Minor warning for profane language, believe it or not)

how is it dumbed down? if sonic is a platformer, he uses the environment like springs and stuff (thats what LBP does, interacting with the objects around you to get to your goal) while avoiding spikes and stuff (fire, ice and others) to get from point A to B (thats pretty much the goal of any platformer) while getting rings (fluff)

so unless sonic is dumbed down too (im talking about the first ones) then no LBP is not dumbed down

shahchip

Sonic is a good comparison due to the co-op gameplay with tails and physics which had sonic performing loop de loops.

I'm not going to argue your comment. It's too good of a comment.

Do us all a favor and stop comparing these games!

Two side scrolling platformers? :?
