More new games

Well, through the power of Christmas money I've aquired two new games. The games are Fallout 3 and Call of Duty: Black Ops (both for the PS3). They're both pretty fun. That is all.

Castle Crashers

Well, I just got Castle Crashers on the PS3 after realizing it had come out on the PS3. I'm on my first playthrough now and it's pretty fun so far. I'm going to do some grinding for a while I guess though since that's generally how I do things. That's pretty much all I have to say so goodbye and have a nice night.

On defending games

I think every gamer has probably been in a situation where someone is speaking badly of a game that they enjoy. Now, I always told myself that in a situation like that I would merely shrug it off and respect the opinion of whoever had cruelly put down the game or series I liked. Recently I was talking with my friends about some games I like and they are big fans of Halo. Well, I'm not really what you would call "passionate" when it comes to the franchise. I actually only recently started playing the series. Anyway, I'm the kind of person who generally likes anything they play so Halo was not an exception. I liked it but I wasn't in love with it per se.

To move on, my friends were talking about how Halo is vastly superior to pretty much every other game ever. Don't get me wrong I like Halo, it's fun among friends when they're not excessively swearing at each other but it being the "greatest game ever" seemed a little exaggerated. I couldn't understand why they thought so highly of it. I started mentioning games that I preferred like the Mario series, the Legend of Zelda series, the Ratchet and Clank games, etc. Then one of my friends said something that really pushed my buttons, so to speak. He said that the game's cartoon-like appearances made them bad. I tried reasoning at first that things like graphics didn't matter and it was about the fun factor and the game-play. No dice, he obviously really thought this. He was actually being serious about something so superficial. I actually started to get a little mad and I'm usually the cool-headed one. I raised my voice a little and I turned a bit red. Then I started thinking for a second "Why can't I accept this?". I mean, it's his opinion right? Who am I to judge. It's a free country so he has the right to think the way he wants, especially about something so trivial.

Through all of this, I just couldn't understand why I couldn't let it go. I think the part that frustrated me the most was that they wouldn't give the games I liked a chance. They just wrote them off as bad for no reason other than appearance. They really should think over the phrase "Don't judge a book by it's cover." It then dawned on me that this was probably how things like flame wars get started. Sure it falls mainly into human nature I suppose, but we gamers aren't that different. We all get enjoyment from video games so why can't we accept each other's games. All this talk of "This game sucks, *insert game here* rules." and of the like don't exactly give gamers a good representation. Overall, I still don't quite comprehend it but if asked I would probably compare it to a large glass window. An insult against a game you like is like a rock being thrown at it. It gets a little cracked at first but as the debate rages the cracks grow larger and more widespread until it shatters and releases quite a few thoughts that lean more towards the negative side of the spectrum. Maybe one day gamers can get past these petty squabbles and just get along and give each other's games a chance. I'm a little curious now though, has anyone else ever had any experiences like this that they feel like sharing?

Have a nice day,

Hello everyone

Yeah, I'm just dropping by like I do every now and then. I have a little bit to say this time. I recently Watched Death Note and read a prequel to it (By the way, L = awesome.). I'm also watching a show called Detective Conan/Case Closed now and it's pretty good. I'm really starting to like detective shows. I also pre-ordered LittleBigPlanet 2 since it looks like it'll be pretty good. Also I just noticed that the Playstation 3 version of Castle Crashers has come out so I'll have to get that soon. Anyway, how are things with all of you? :D

A new game... or technically an older one.

Today I went to Gamestop and traded in some not-so-good games from my collection in an attempt to get Pikmin 2. It all worked out and I got more money for the games then I expected. I also got a discount card and a subscription to Gameinformer. All in all, it was pretty grand. I then proceeded to play Pikmin 2 for the rest of the day and man is it fun. I just love those little guys. I've heard the new Pikmin play control remakes have toned down some things and made them more kid friendly. Like when a creature dies it would scream but now it would just squeak. It just wouldn't be the same. Anyway, I can safely assume that Pikmin is one of my favorite games... ever. Well, I'm going to go to bed now because it's almost 2 a.m. Have a nice night :D.

Can't let you do that Firefox

Well, I just got Firefox. It's pretty nifty so far. Things seem to load faster then Internet Explorer. On another note I'm going to be out of school pretty soon. Probably tomorrow or the next day depending on if I feel like going Friday.Hmm, that's about all I can think of to say right now... Oh, I might be sticking around here for a little while this time. Bye and have a nice day. :D

Oh, and here's a picture of a shady lemon... thing... It's kind of weird actually.

Shady Lemon

You know it's shady, it has a trench coat and everything!

Hey everyone, it's been a while

I'm just stopping by like I do every now and then. Let's see, I got the Quick Change Artist emblem a while back while I was gone:

Quick Change Artist

"Things Change, People ChangeAwarded for helping to keep a GameSpot review accurate long after it was originally published. This user suggested an After the Fact update that was subsequently checked out and added to the review of the game in question. Proof that people notice when games change."

I got it forsubmitting an"After The Fact"for theBig Rigs: Over the Road Racing review which can be viewed here: http://www.gamespot.com/pc/driving/bigrigsotrr/review.html?tag=tabs%3Breviews

I've also been thinking about getting Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion.

Oh, also I like that more emblems can be viewed on my page then when I was here last time. Although I still would like it more if I could put them in the order I wanted like on the Escapist(Though,I haven't been there much either). Plus the emblems are ranked now also which is pretty cool. Well, that's all I have to say for now. Have a nice day :D.
