Limewire's Lawsuit

so basically, the music industry is suing limewire for over $150 000/song downloaded (!!!!), saying that file-sharing companies such as limewire (kazaa, winmx, bearshare etc.) are the reason their profits are down and the industry is going downhill a UNC/Harvard University study found that the effect of file sharing on the music industry's profits is exactly ZERO, proving that music fans are still more than willing to pay for QUALITY music, not the garbage that the major music industry has been crapping out lately ever since home recordable cassettes, the music industry has harassed any form of sharing music, and taken them to court so the music industry gets a profit from the sales (cassettes - they get x number of dollars for every cassette sold, same with CD-R's when they first came out, and now with the Zune and iPod), and taking anybody to court for outrageous lawsuits who doesn't give them a royalty, claiming they're stealing music also interesting to note is the fact that its only the MAJOR music industry thats suffering profit loss, not the INDIE (independent/underground) music industry, and only the MAJOR music industry receives profits from sales of iPods, Zunes, and CD's, not the INDIE music industry this is political red-tape bull happening right before our eyes, and we are letting it happen, limewire is just one in many to fall (it started with Napster (by the way, the MAJOR music industry gets profits from all songs downloaded through Napster now too, sound a little familiar?) and it's going to keep happening until someone does something) curious for more information, check out this article http://music.lovetoknow.com/Limewire_Lawsuit or just google Limewire Lawsuit
