sorry im a bit confused about all this. I just bought a 3DS and haven't really messed around with the marketplace yet. but im assuming 3DS owners can purchase and run DSi ware? Also the pricing using points is a bit odd, I thought they were getting rid of it and just using a regular marketplace currency. do i have to buy nintendo points to buy DSi ware games only, or can i use those points on future 3DS ware?

tutt3r

Nobody seems sure yet how it's all going to work on the 3DS. You WILL be able to buy DSiWare games on the 3DS, but the 3DS can't connect to the shop yet, that's coming with a firmware update in May. We'll find out more about how it all works and whether it uses proper monetary values or the old Nintendo points system then.

I think you need to activate Streetpass on the games you want to use it with before it'll work. So if you want Mii's for Streetpass Quest, you need to go into the Mii Plaza and activate it. After that, it's just a case of going to the main menu screen on the 3DS and putting it in Sleep mode (just close the lid)....whilst in Streetpass mode, anybody you pass by who's also activated Streetpass mode (and also carrying their 3DS around with them) will have their Mii sent you your Mii Plaza and vice versa.

When playing Streetpass Quest, you can use Miis collected from Streetpass as characters. They start off at level 1 and can only be used once, but if you pass by that same person again in Streetpass mode on a different day, they level up and can be used again....handy if you've got friends or family with 3DSs that you see regularly. Streetpass Quest automatically saves your progress at least, so if you only knock off half of a monster's energy bar and lose all your heroes, when you nezt play it you'll be back on the same monster and it'll still only have half it's energy left. You can also 'hire' heroes for 2 coins ach but so far it's only given me level 2 heroes which ae quite weak and you can only earn a maximum 10 coins a day y carrying the 3DS around with you.

The cradle seems like a waste of plastic if you ask me....everybody used original DSs, DS Lites and DSis just fine without it, and whenever you're playing the 3DS indoors, you're likely to have it plugged into the mains anyway, you can't play with it properly whilst it's sat on the cradle.

I wouldn't be surprised at all if they ditched it with future release versions of the 3DS

I've got an Aqua Blue one and it seems to get covered in my fingerprints pretty quickly, so I'm assuming that the black one will be a lot better in that regard. Maybe it's just because the blue's a lighter colour that they show up more, I dunno.

I got Chuck Norris. Do I win?

Rougehunter

Not quite.

I got Jean Claude Van Damme, Bruce Campbell and Hulk Hogan on mine. Was thinking of maybe going for Reb Brown next. 8)

Face Raiders + Google Images = EPIC WIN.

Don't regret buying mine :) Had it since Thursday 24th, I'm in the UK and ordered online...it was delivered a day early.

I haven't played the games I bought with it (Pilotwings Resort and Super SF4) much yet though, to be honest, as I've been hammering Okamiden all weekend...I'd bought Okamiden the week before but I was waiting for the 3DS to play it on as the circle pad feels so much better for a game like that than the standard DS dpad does. From what I have played of SSF4 and Pilotwings though, they're both good games....they don't seem to have the depth to keep me playing for hours on end though, plus I've already got Super Street Fighter 4 on the Xbox 360 anyways. I haven't finished Golden Sun: Dark Dawn yet so I'm likely to go back to that after Okamiden before I spend much time with the new 3D games......the 3D effect isn't (and has never been) a draw for me either because I've got vision problems and can't see it at all. :P

The AR games and Face Raiders are very cool freebies that I've had a lot of fun with also....scouring the internet for various pictures for Face Raiders makes it much more entertaining, I've got Jean Claude Van Damme, Bruce Campbell and Hulk Hogan as enemies on mine :D

Similar to the poster above me, I'm severely short/near sighted and am practically blind nowadays in my right eye so I can't see any of the 3D effects from the 3DS either, or those from recent movies, (which sucks :() although back when I was younger and still had vision in my right eye, I was able to see 3D effects just fine wearing those funny card glasses you used to get with one lens coloured red and the other coloured blue.

I still bought a 3DS though because, for me, it's got a lot more to offer than just the 3D gimmick....Streetpass/Spotpass connectivity, better and more advanced games, a proper analogue controller that is much better than the PSP's nub, an E-Shop that will have downloadable classic Gameboy games, etc. :)

Doom 3 every time. I like the other games mentioned, but there's nothing like an out and out blaster....just switch off your brain, fire and forget. :D
