Sunday post and God of War appreciation

Yesterday brought upon the first smile to my face in a long time and some other stuff was pretty good to. I'll get to the normal news first then I'll explain what made me smile. It seems I will most definantly be getting the wal mart job. Ran into Matt last night and he was like ya we pulled your app as well as Shade's(good friend of mine) and are just discussing where to put you guys. It seems I'll most likely be a unloader which was the exact same thing I was gonna do at ups anyhow so who knows I may work here then possibly just find a way to transfer to U of L laters. I also ran into another housing prospect. My friend gabe is moving into a huge assed house which is walking distance from my secondary job and campus. Its like 500 a month split between 3 or 4 people if we can get that many. Its got 4 bedrooms. I won't however be going to the paperview because Matt got payed for the tickets at the last minute. I don't care really I'm not to into wrestling anymore and was just going cause it was free and might be neat to attend a payperview.

Anyways what made me smile was about 2 in the morning I got a call from my friends who I haven't seen since since Christmas and who I also hung around with in high school and the first years of college before they moved on. We talked for awhile which was fun and there coming down next weekend to spend some time with me since its the weekend before my B-Day. It will be nice to spend some time with old friends and possibly make me feel better for a lil while.

I spent yesterday playing alot of God of War and am now back to the point I was in when I played it about a year ago when it launched but my friend took his copy back before I could finish. This game is so amazing. The first areas really don't impress to much graphically except the hydras and that epic boss battle. When you get to athens is when the really awesome stuff happens such as moving throughout it with a ares destroying junk in the background. This game does things I always liked in games when they do it. Such as when your moving throughout a area cool stuff ether breaking out of the background or events happen and stream as you move throughout giving you a sense that others are suffering throughout this fight like you. I like it alot when you moving through a passage way and you see the soldiers running toward you but the roof collapse right before they escape killing em. Another thing I love is how this game is one of the few that really gives off a sense that your on a epic journey. Never does it feel like you just moving through level to level since all the world is connected its just like a streaming epic travel even though your moving from level to lever you never really realize it. The only place that really feels like your leaving one level to the next is the transition from the boat with the hydras to the land by Athens but it really doesnt matter because the boat is just a intro level to get you used to the mechaniacs anyhow. The story is also pretty rocking as well.

Summer and the games that never come.

Well its almost the time for my summer off from school and just like every summer the flood of good games slow to a minimum. At least i can take this time to pick up all the titles i missed earlier in the year. Such titles as RE4, Xenosaga 2 and suikoden 4. I also can't forget all the fighting games i haven't gotten yet like GG Isuka and kof 2002 and 2003.

Gaming Mp3's

Being a game fan i find myself downloading all sorts of gaming themes and sorts on mp3. From the old chrono trigger soundtracks to the japanese megaman x themes. There is one set of mp3's i can't find. Those are the japanese songs from the ps1 fighter Rival Schools. If anyone knows where to find some mp3's from the game please comment to this journal entry.

Fullmetal Alchemist and the Broken Angel

I recently picked up a copy of the game based on Fullmetal Alchemist by square enix. The game itself pretty much boils down to button mashing as its mostly a beat em up with leveling up and equipment as a distraction. Althought the game play was repetitive it did have and alchemy system to transform objects to various weapons which kept things a little bit more interesting. While gameplay was a bit on the dull side i didn't mind the high quality cutscenes and i felt it had a fairly decent story to keep me playing to the end. I did hate the fact however that you had to play through again to unlock the high quality cinematics to view at your leisure. This was a problem do to the fact the game wasn't good enough to hold interest a second time which felt more like a chore. All in all the game was ok but doesn't justify the 40 dollar asking price however I wouldn't be dissappointed paying a value price of twenty dollars for it being a fan of the anime. I'm sure you've heard it from other reviews but it still holds true. Just give it a rental or if you must have it wait for it to become value priced.

First entry

I had refrained from adding my old games to the collection on the site do to some family trouble. Recently I came in contact with my mother who had my games after the trouble i care not mention. I found they are in tact and i can come and get them.
I can finally have my old nes, genesis and snes back as well as my games.
