I did a double take when I went to pickup the box at the graphics. I figured they were blowing steam with the recomended reqs.
Turns out for whatever reason, it's optimized poorly though, for real.
It ran on my 4200+ 2gb 2x7600GT sli setup fine on max graphics at 1072x768... but unfortunately it would occasionally hiccup a little, especially when doing some wide arc camera pan. And in a timing game, hiccups are totally unacceptable. So I got tired of missing notes because of a .5 second delay and removed the crowd and put it on "low" (you get little options, Graphics low and high, crowd on/off, physics on/off, and resolution).
For all the interviews aspyre did talking about how awesome it would be to have the game on a laptop, I'm not seeing that as a real possibility, which is kind of a shame.
Interviews also said the biggest port issue from 360 to PC was compressing the 360's 3 processor pipeline into a single unit. So I guess something flubbed somewhere. Wish someone would hurry up and mod the game to do it better. Having a crowd again instead of an empty room would sure be sweet...
