I understand the secrecy in countries such as Iraq where taking part in the first election after a dictatorship obviously there is going to be some violence. However in countries such as America, the UK etc. I don't understand this fear. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I can't think of any major situations where violence has been used to influence votes in these countries in recent years.
If people are prepared to put their "X" next to the name of a person they want to run their country for the next 4 years then you'd think they'd have the guts to say who that is.
Maybe it's because I don't vote that I don't understand it, but i think it's dumb how it's almost considered the same as asking someone how much they make a year,
