New Arrivals

In one week the massive influx of top notch games will begin. Sure many people will say "but what about The Orange Box it came out last week" but they forget the lul in the game releases this week, which has realativly no big name titles. And that lul is why i start this next week. FYI i intend to call next week The Age of Awesome, or AoA for short.

There are two reasons why AoA is important for the gamer. First this is the first year in a long time when there has been a steady release of well marketed, and as far as most people can tell, good games. Last year expecially had only a few good games that were released during this same time. The reason this period of time is important is because it is before the holiday season, thus more people will be wanting to buy something for other people or themselves. It also gives game developers the time they need before the holidays for the games to get reviewed and be placed firmly in the consumer mind.

Secondly, this will be the most financially straining time of the year for me, honestly I have been saving up for a while for five or six of the big name titles like Mass Effect. But I wasn't planning on Army of Two, Fire Emblem, Virtua Figheter, or even Kane and Lynch. But now I have to seriously think about the prospect of these games being kick ass, because quite frankly their previews have been kick ass and the hands on experiences that the lucky guys down at GameSpot have had are all positive.

In all honesty i dont know how im going to be able to even play all these games let alone buy them all. Right now I have 14 games on my "To Buy" list up to only Nov. 23rd. Thats about 30 days from now till then, do the math I have two days per game, not mentioning the fact that some games are released at the smae time, which will make me choose between good games. UGh I also still have to got to school so at best I have about 6 hours a day to play videogames. Im fairly certain that no one can actually pull this off. But Im going to give it my best shot.

Anyways just wanted to let you all know to start saving those pennies and maybe you might be able to keep up with this flood like in flux of new games. Maybe. But probably not. Actually dont save go rab a bank and you might be able to buy them all, but it would hafta be the bank that Bill Gates uses.

Conclusion?

So by this time most people have either beaten Halo 3 or watched the ending via youtube.com. So Im pretty sure that for most people (the ones that beat it on Legendary that is) are left feeling almost the same way they did back with Halo 2. Now Im not going to spoil anything for people who didnt finish it yet, but Im still pretty upset that it ended the way it did.

Actually its interesting because theres some rumors going around that the ending relates Halo with the other Bungie game Marathon. This is believeable because there are already alot of connections with the two; the Cortana Letters, the Marathon Terminals, and finally the Legendary ending.

I mean it would be cool to have a connection between the games, it would even be cool if there was another Halo game in the future (besides Halo Wars), but to leave us in question like that is just unfair. This is the same thing that happened with Kingdom Hearts II, leaving that secret ending in the game and then not releasing anything about it.

Dumb User Review Interface

Ugh, nothing gets me more mad then a stupid interface issue with this site. I spend the good part of a couple of hours typing up my first new review in months and the damn thing won't space itself properly. Ugh damnit. So disappointing, I spent so much time on it now the only thing that people will notice is the damn lack of paragraphs, that and they will automatically think I'm some kind of newly created dumb for not understanding the interface in the first place.

Anyways, just finished watching the review of Halo 3 they just posted, really psyched for it. Unfortunately I can't play it the day its released like everyone else because I have to go to a silly doctors appointment. O well, I my health matters, it might actually be a good thing because a good friend of mine is coming over the next day and we are going to play through Legendary together and knock out that first set of acheivements. Also this time around the game is apparently more fleshed out in terms of story which for me is a huge plus because I was one of the people that jumped up in anger and yelled at my Xbox when Halo 2 ended like it did.

Enough for now I'm going to try and bust out another review tonight, perhaps on bioshock or maybe oblivion, idk yet.

FYI just beat Bioshock a few days ago, great game pick it up after all this Halo 3 craziness is over. It will probably occupied you till around november, which is when you should so go and buy Mass Effect.

Dear God

Why would you take away the thing i hold most precious to me at this point? Have I dishonored myself by leaving my GameCube on for long days on end? Why else would you send your angel of death to my console if not for that? Sure, I left it on for a while, but i always came back in a few hours. Ok maybe clocking over 100 hours in a single session is to much for one console, but I say you have gone too far. In short no reason is good enough to take away the only thing that brings me pleasure until I recive my Wii.

Warcraft makes the Greats

The game that filled my childhood for more than two years is finally given recognition in a large sense. This is a game that is largely responsible for bringing strategy games into the mainstream. Sure Command & Conquer was there at about the same time but this game really pushed the genre into the US. Japan already had made this transition with the widely popular Fire Emblem series, but it had yet to really impact the US in a broad sense. If it weren't for the influence of Warcraft most games such as Age of Empires would not have been such big hits state side if Warcraft had not paved the way. In short, a classic game finally gets the recognition that has been long due. Take a gander at the monument that Gamespot has made for this game: http://www.gamespot.com/features/6144203/index.html

Coming Soon

So far I have only written a couple of reviews for games that I have completed. However I’ve been working on several other additions including but not limited to; Kingdom Hearts, Wind Waker, and Super Smash Bros. Melee. Overall there will be about 19 new submissions. I intend to submit them all around the same time, probably this weekend if I can finish them all.

I have been working to better my reviewing skills and working out the kinks in my presentation. I think that the best way to do that is to continue my writing until I get a badge that says I am the #1 reviewer out there.
