Add me to the group who thinks OoT is better than TP. I enjoyed both games, but OoT has to take the cake for me. A lot of the time when I was playing TP, I felt like it was more of a chore. Every time I finished a dungeon, it seemed like 10 minutes before I entered the next one. The world didn't seem alive, didn't seem to breathe. I cared much more about the characters in OoT than I ever did in TP.

Don't get me wrong, I did like Midna's character, but I felt that the world of TP seemed rather bland and barren compared to OoT's. There were large areas of land with no sidequests, which you just rode through on Epona and never stopped to look at. With OoT it felt like there was a secret hidden around every corner.

As for feeling heroic, I felt that way in both games. The shock of going out into OoT's Market for the first time as adult Link was amazing, and I actually felt angry at what had happened...showing that I really did care about the characters. But the game in which I felt the most affected by the characters' situations was another one entirely...Majora's Mask. I think MM and OoT compliment each other perfectly, and I would say both are better than TP, even though TP was still a good game.

You're a hardened mercenary walking down a corridor deep inside the enemy base. You have an entire arsenal of weapons at your disposal. You see a way down to the control room. You're about to attempt it when all of a sudden, you notice in front of you a one-foot barrier.

Dammit.

Okay, so maybe this isn't such a problem anymore, but I always hated it when you were playing an FPS or such and your character couldn't even jump!

A to both.

One of the game endings that disappointed me the most was Dungeon Siege's. If I remember rightly it was not much more than a couple of screens of text. Just awful.

Sam. I've always liked the name Sam for a horse. :)

Much like the OP, I also hit the coffee table whilst playing Wii Sports - I think it was Bowling but I'm not sure. That's the only time I've ever hit anything though.

My family had been trying to get it for some time, and I'd kept constant watch on sites like Amazon. We'd originally ordered from Play, but since they took far too many orders for the amount they were getting, no luck there. It was the 22nd of December when my dad, at work, happened to check Amazon...in the less-than-five-minute period at which they had stock. He ordered it on the fastest delivery and it arrived in time for Christmas.

The best thing was, I didn't know this had happened - so I assumed they hadn't found one. Imagine my surprise when I opened it on Christmas Day. ^^

MA-REE-O

Where the "ma" is pronounced as it is in "man". A short "a" rather than a long one. Most English people I have spoken to pronounce it this way as well.

Yep, beat it in around 40 hours, though a lot of that was idle time! I enjoyed it but found it a little on the easy side. But I guess that's one of the negatives about having played a lot of Zelda games...you get used to how they work, and the puzzles don't seem as challenging anymore...

I have the original and still play it :) My brother bought 4 and enjoyed it. I'll look into this version but I don't think I am likely to buy it - the original will do for me.
