Apparently it does, and I'd wish to know so. Also, I've heard John Carmack say the X-box 360 is superior, can someone quote this exactly for me.

Personally, I like zombies, but it doesn't work that well because of the God-awful netcode that CoD is built with.

Not sure if serious, CoD horde mode is awful.

Maybe, the zombie mode is fun.

It's fun. But it's so under polished and like you said lacks proper net coding. And the two type zombies, runners/slow ones get so repetitive and boring.

What do you think? Gears of war, Uncharted, Call of duty and Halo are the current ones I know of. But I believe it's Gears, especially with Gears of war 3 far more elaborate Horde 2.0 with fantastic bosses, defenses, currency and just general setup and polish.

Calling the plot great is far too generous. Perhaps 'adequate' would be a more fitting description. Greatness requires a lot more nuance and originality than a bunch of meathead jocks fighting to save the world from an alien invasion. Proper characterisation is non-existent and the story in general feels like an afterthought. The best thing that can be said about it is that it never gets in the way of the action and doesn't interfere with gameplay.

Gears 2, on the other hand, is a great example of a horrific plot dragging down the whole experience.

The story related generally to Gears 2 was horrible. Not the plot. The back story really is wonderful, read the books and or comics. Even the biggest of meat heads seem to carry a lot of personality along with it. :)

I think you need to play more games if it truely is one of the best plots you've ever seen in a game. Gears of War has just as much story as your typical Michael Bay movie.

But we all know how much people love those movies :/

I don't get what you're referencing. You changed your attempted depiction of Gears as a transformers movie with a bad plot to story telling?

Many games share that problem. I like the backstory of Resistance and Halo for example, but cant stand the ingame story...but gears with likeable characters? No, I dont like One Liner usin, steroid pumping, meatheads.

Mr_Caboose007
Benjamin Carmine looks pretty Non-Steroid using. :P

\ As does Baird and Jace. Along with every female character. It'd be tough to list every minor character for such as well. But the only really large characters are Marcus, Dom and Cole. Meat heads can be lovable, as well as have a personality.

[QUOTE="Mr_Caboose007"]Here's how I view the characters. Marcus is just awful, his voice annoys me and he just comes off WAY to serious to like Dom is nothing special, and for some reason he is the worst A.I Cole, while I enjoy his high spirits attitude, and enjoyed his "speech" to the queen, just gets on the verge of annoyance and I just find him to generic to like Baird is great, his A.I is great and I am a fan of his Sarcastic and Down on everything personality. Benjamin Carmine is pure awesome, a great character. He goes from being a Rook who can barely get the hang of things to a very courageous CoG, He has some of the greatest One Liners and his innocence is awesome. Plus, he sounds like Caboose. :P

I think they tried to particularly make Marcus serious, hence the reason for the voice. Though, they could have thrown a joke or two in between his angry, rage filled, grunting hatred. At least he's not like Kratos though, who kills for the wrong reasons. Even if I did like the story and love Greek mythology.

[QUOTE="UDrake"] Uncharted does good story telling, though the plot is horrendous. I don't really see any improvement in three though for that, I doubt ND could. I think Nathan Drake and Sully in particular are pretty likable characters though. campzor

I think what he's saying is that Uncharted is the opposite to Gears: it has good storytelling and a bad story.

well i wouldnt say BAD story.. Just a typical adventure story , which isnt bad by any means... but gears has aliens and stuff :P

It's pretty mediocre, N.D expands on it a bit. The story telling is pretty good, from what I can tell. It's the back story that really pulls me to a series, I don't know. I heard there's a book coming out for it, I might give it a read.
