Hello everyone,

as most of the people on my msn list already know, last weekend I got to go to a gaming expo for free! (Because I'm in Game Development, go figure.)

I was expecting...something different.

The ratings of the expo, say it's 'fifth' in the running of gaming expos with E3 in the top space (Number 1). So i expected somewhat of a dummed down E3 experience.

That's definitely not what I got.

The expo was more for people to enter in some awesome competitions and tryout some games, not really with industry heads presenting some new material.

There was some sweet technology there though! The new notebook pen, where it can help you do math, etc. I got to play with. The draws were yesterday, so I guess I didn't win :(

Also a tablet monitor! A monitor built and designed like a tablet, that has pin point aqcuracy! But most of this stuff was already revealed before the expo on tv or in magazines. It was fun to actually try them out though. (I doodled a picture that remained on the system all weekend haha).

There was no Sony. NOTHING with Sony. no ps3 games, no psp stuff, nothing! Nintendo Wii and Xbox was there..but no Sony. DAMN IT SONY START SMARTENING UP!!

*cough* Anyway,

I got to play Guitar Hero for the first time, and totally got hooked! (Went out and bought guitar hero 2 right after). I played some DDR, but got spanked in it by my friend Maggie.

Also got my picture taken with THEE master chief! LMAO~ For most of you,you know how I feel about Halo 3 and how over rated it is.

It was a lot of fun, and in no way a waste of time. (Just wish my friends were better at deciding what to do..I had to decide everything. Man i feel like a leader with these women!)

But then again, my class of 6 women including me, I'm probably the topfemale gamer in the class hands down. (Except maybe Courtney..she beats me in the xbox section of gaming, no problem there!).

So Ya, it's probably only natural gamer girls follow me for ideas, hahahahaha.

As I promised, I will put up a picture or two from the Expo. If anyone was watching Toronto News where they reflected on the Expo, I was the blonde playing guitar hero against the black haired girl XD

FFVII: Crisis Core was released in japan today, (very happy about that) and I can already see from the trailers, cut scenes and opening videos/battle scenes it's going to be amazing! (http://www.adventchildren.net/ for downloadable scenes)

I'm so excited! I hope they make the english version soooon. (or i'll just get the japanese version :P)

Oh, one of the rumors going around is you can switch to the japanese voice actors in the Crisis Core game English version...it's not confirmed, but some of the english voices (like monotone Aeris, and crappy Tifa) are terrible. Vincent's annoys me greatly too. Cloud could use some more emphasis on his words/ screaming. If i can switch to english subtitles and japanese voices...i'll give it a 10/10 right now!! lol!!

They also say that there's clues to an ff7 remake after you beat the game twice...

Now, i know i harped on the fact i don't want a remake this soon...

I WILL be fine with it only IF they keep EVERYTHING the same as from the original. So Cid and barret swearing (bleep it out if u don't like it ), Cloud cross dressing...and maybe add some little extras for us veterans from the original.

If they leave out stuff, cut things out like cid's swearing, don't give aeris a nice bloody death...i will be VERY VERY angry at square enix. And for the love of gawd S-E LET the original plot creator of FFVII HELP with the remake! u let them with crisis core, but not with DOC!.

anyway...

i honestly can't wait!

I also bought Tomb Raider Aniversary...i love the original TR sooo much and it's similar to the original with extras and cool graphics...come on S-E, keep ff7's remake like that. (if the remake rumors are true)

I'm not big on reading forums or blogs on gamespot, (only certain people's) so if this has been told, I really don't care.

As most of you know, I'm pursuing a career in game design, and I'm currently in the best school for game design in ontario (if any of you say Algonquin, I'll shoot you in the toe...Algonquin's program is terrible..but i'll get into that at a later date.)

Most of my proffesors have designed games of some sort, and one of them has designed a class called 'history of games'

Most people don't know it dates back to 1889; i certainly didn't know. It was a very interesting class, surprisingly there is a lot more to know then most people think.

One main point was the real fall of Sega.

Everyone blames sony, and that ps2 left dreamcast in the dust and sega was ruined.(Most of my friends think this...including you AA7, i remember our discussions lol. but i love our conversations! Not knocking them at all man :) )

This is NOT true.

Sony had one of the worst launch in the history of systems, and no one cared about the system until almost two years after it's release. (And later would pull to be the best system of last gen)

Sega, well committed suicide basically. Sega was massively creating systems, and eventually created a financial black hole, where they didn't make any money. Dreamcast was AMAZING and had sooo much potential, but Sega decided to pull something no other console company did. They committed suicide, stopping all release of consoles and product of consoles. And went solely to making video games for all of their competitors. That's right, they made video games exclusively for their rivals.

What happened?

Sega is now a multi million dollar company. It worked, and no company has been able to do it since. (Atari failed..lol)

Although Dreamcast's potential was crazy, they saw a risk shot and took it.

Ultimately, they didn't get crushed or beat out by any console. They crushed themselves.

And thats part of what i learnt first day in history of games...i am going to LOVE this class!!!! (it's also a one of a kind class in ontario, because algonquin doesn't focus on as far back, or as detailed...i know, i sat in on a class. )

And no, please i've had too many ppl request to see my work, know what we're doing, etc. I can give you HINTS on what u need to do to get into college, or what Game developer's want. HOWEVER, the work i am doing will not be released on this, DA or anywhere on the net until my third year. (This is to protect myself from internet copying, plagerizing, etc that has been done with various of stuff i designed...and is now on newgrounds, stolen by friends/ people i don't even know...but i won't get into that.)

ESPECIALLY my game characters that i draw...those will no longer be released on the net, as i had a few times kids stealing them, or using them to get into colleges and universities.

If you're saying 'oh wow, who would want your stuff?'
a) u haven't seen the level of stuff i've done now
b) i was told directly by many professors of colleges and universities..(including2 who are in the industry for major companies in vancouver...they're stationed in vancouver not that the companies there) that my designing and character designing (again u wont see until third year) have strong potential and i'm to keep in contact with them with various updates.

So yes, i have had stuff stolen...like character maps, height ratios, flash videos etc and i'm stopping that now so that companies don't think i'm the one who copied.

So no get to see anything i'm doing. And anyone in GD course should be doing this as well.

I will probably get ALOT of hate emails or comments for this, but oh well. My opinion.

World of Warcraft IS overated! Everyone talks about how it's the best game ever; well, it's not that great. That's just the wittle kiddies adults addicted to the game. They're addicted; not that they can see the flaws in the game, or the variation between it and let's say, guild wars...u can't compare them as easily as people think, but addicts are the ones fueling it.

For example, i'm going to share all the negatives to WoW:

Graphics are very cartoony and give off an unrealistic mmostile. They aren't as fine tuned and professional as LOTR online, and not as suited for the game as Ever quest.

If you're level let's say 50, u can easily beat level 49 and lower of the samestile In guild wars, if you're level 20..u COULD kill a level 40 or so's ass depending on how u play and your straitegy...

WoW is mindless. there's no real 'straitegy' to the game, and when you become level 70...all u do is farm or pk.

Anyway, the only thing going for WoW is the millions of addicts and the fact that it is a warcraft game..and the warcraft universe is beautiful! It's a decent game and mmo..WoW, but it isn't the best and a far cry from it. I played it;several times, and i honestly can't see why millions of ppl are addicted too it. I can see why ppl are addicted to everquest, because it's ridiculously LONG and time consuming..but WoW? You can get to level 70 in a couple days..then what?

However, i can't compare WoW to guild wars directly let's say..because their stile of mmo is different. It'd be like comparing half life 2 to halo 2, u can't. HL2 isn't multiplayer, and doesn't focus primarilyon that part like halo 2 does.
Or..comparing xenosaga and .hack// games. They are both rpgs and anime based games yes, butxenosaga focuses more on 60 hours of talking, rather then any play time..and u can go off from the original plot and it's an rpg. Where as .hack u can vary from the plot path and level up to a 100if u wanted to, and it's a simulated offline mmo rpg.

So stop it you addicts, i'm tired of hearing 'WoW is the best' lol. We'll see when Diablo 3 or another mmo comes out..how quickly you'll jump the guns. :P it's happened all the time now. I am aware that 'stile' is spelt wrong, but gamespot wouldn't let me write in the right way to spell it.

Alright, so I've been playing .hack//G.U; I know i'm behind, but I never start a dot hack game unless the majority of the volumes are already out..and seeing how the third and final volume of GU comes out in september, I thought I'd start it up. Hits about the game: The character design has slightly improved; giving them more of a unique look this time around. (instead of all the wavemasters looking the same, etc.) The battle system has greatly improved and the option of running away or avoiding the battles now apply. (which is nice when you're clearing out low level dungeons and you're a very high level.). The fighting, skill trigger, rengeki, everything about the battle system is a great improvement over the last game. Now you can fight other players! Yes! Endrance, your ass is MINE! the outside the world, logo screen has so many extras now that if you're bored with just leveling up, check out the forums..or jack's investigations. XD Layouts of towns is done MUCH better then last time. lot's more stuff to do and more area instead of just for little inlets v.v' You can CHANGE your class if you want to this time! if u don't like being a dual sword user, you can upgrade! which is much better then being limited to one class like before...gives it a bit more original thought to how you can play the game. An anti hero style main character instead of a good toe shoes. Much better..although kite was amusing, he just didn't say a whole lot. Haseo has LOTS to say and is ready to give people a peice of his mind. Misses about the game: The story line isn't all that...great. If you've played the first four volumes, the story line is similar. Good friend falls into a coma, you're doing everything you can to get them out. Etc. It's the same story every time...it does add a new element with Tri Edge in there, but not as catchy and great as the first four games. Too much TALKING! There is waayyyy too much talking and scenes in this game as opposed to fighting and leveling up or advancing the plot. At the beginning of the game, prepare to do an hour's worth of gameplay, and not even move. They better dumb down the talking in the next two volumes... Areas..i liked it better before where you would clear out the field, then move to the dungeon...now sometimes you're either just on a field or just in a dungeon, no combo of the two anymore. Which makes clearing levels soo much easier..but thats the down side. Enemies only seem to come in groups of two and three..which is challenging a bit, but I would've liked to see that you could fight more then three enemies at a time...the last one's limits was three too. Music is the same as it was before...I was hoping for a bit more originality. the only song that sounds a bit different from the original music, is the battle theme. Some voices are very very irritating...like Atoli's for example, is the most annoying voice i've ever heard! They got RID of riding Grunties!! D: I liked it beeettter then riding a stupid bike! Now grunties are annoying when they were cool in the previous ones. So all and all the game is pretty good...i personally like everything to do with dot hack, so it's not like i like GU better then the first four dot hack games or vise versa. Just thought i'd share the pros and cons haha. I like it. I think i'll reccommend the series to anyone who liked the first four dot hack games. Yey for Haseo! XD akira out.

I'm also REALLY into Full Metal Alchemist lately..watched the whole series, movie and i'm currently playing the secondgame (the first was JUST terrible...and S-E made this one so YEY). I'm also making an Edward Elric outfit because i've been told too many times now i look like Ed when i braid my hair..so i'm going all the way! My friend bought me the official cosplay gloves AND got them signed by the english voice actor of Edward! Vic! whoo!! (i like the english voice actor in the movie and games mostly..i watched the entire series in japanese, so i like the japanese voice actor too. Probably a bit more,butthey are both awesome!! XDXD annnd Vic's canadian!!) I'm almost done the coat..whoot!

Alright, I honestly am a believer that console exclusive games shouldn't go multi-platform.

Reasons:

It's generally a bad idea, especially sequels. For example, you have DMC4 which is going multi-platform..however, the previous three were ps2 exclusives...so generally people who own xbox's have no idea what will be going on because they haven't played the first three and won't be able to catch the hints, etc.

I don't mind a brand new game coming out for multiple systems, it's a good way to ensure a lot of people play it and get you money. However, console exclusives aren't a good idea. ..well mainly sequels to console exclusives like DMC4, MGS4, or the rumors halo 3 will go to ps3...because u have mgs 1-3, dmc 1-3 and halo 1-2 on a different console, u haven't played those previous titles and won't be apt to buy the sequels no matter how stunning they are.

Anyway, thats my beef for now. Oh, in random news, i'm not getting a ps3 for awhile. Too many games coming out soon for my ps2 and psp...so i won't have the money to purchase ps3 games although i can afford the system now without dipping into my college fund. once ff13 is out for a bit, i'll think about getting ps3.

Some good games are coming out for psp soon! Like Dissidia: FF. A fighting ff game!! ohh looks amazing!!
or Crisis Core FFVII that we should see around jan/feb time. (since it's coming out at the end of summer for japan).

This just PROVES to all you people who keep saying Kingdom Hearts 2 Final Mix is the LAST in the series of kingdom hearts, that you're dead wrong. Nomura also said 'it's a name that won't go down yet'. I'm tired of hearing these lies...and the funny thing is, they all originate from ONE place (which i mention in my previous KH blog). ' until the company announces something about it...you shouldn't believe the random rumors.

Something like people guessing because Kojima said ps3 was a theatre experience and with mgs4 they are going with a theatre experience...they all think 'well, he said 360 was a dvd experience...and all theatre's come to dvd!' which wasn't what he was saying at all people! (thats just fanboys hoping mgs will come to there system

If I see one more good review of FFX-2 I think I'm going to go on a killing rampage...probably of FFX-2 positve reviewers and fanboys...fanboys are just as annoying.

After writing a few good game reviews...I decided to review a game that sucked. FFX-2 was my first choice because I played all the way through it and mastered the whole damn thing.

I am a die hard S-E fan..but even I can admit when they screw up. This is one of those 'let's pretend it didn't happen' moments. For anyone who loved FFX...please, oh dear god, please just run AWAY from this title! If you are like me and need to own every FF or every S-E game..buy it but put it on your shelf for to never be used!! This is by far the worst FF game i have ever seen!

If it wasn't a sequel..it would be ok. The graphics are nice. But it's a sequel..a sequel to an amazing plot and an amazing game. And it just ruins it with it's endings that don't make sense, boring plot, annoying side quests, too many side quests, the not worth the trouble perfect ending and the annoying main characters whose personality did a 180!!

 

I hope to GOD i am NOT the only one sane around here and KNOWS a half decent game when I SEE one! I shall shoot the person who said this was the best FF game..and the other person who gave it a 10 out of 10! the ONLY time a game deserves that is if you cannot find any flaws...oh i can find flaws in it. I can find so many that you wouldn't even consider ever looking at this game again.

 

If I hear Yuna SING one MORE time...i think I'm guna snap.

Next up: my personality profile. For all you boys who want to get to know the ultimate female gamer :P her turn ons...and various other stuff.

Now I have been hearing so many rumors on the possibility of A kingdom hearts 3..and nomura allegidly saying 'KH2:FM+ is the last of the series.' and it'll be brought to the new series..after watching the videos, i'm kinda convinced there will be another one..and it could go either way for a prequel to kh1 or a sequel to kh2. Too many rumors!

Sites like kh-2 dot net...'translate' what they say, but so many times have they had to change their info because it was incorrect due to bad translation. And with GS going so..fanboy based...and translators failing here..and everywhere else too..
(like what sony allegidly said..and they had a post ban all around the net because it was translated incorrectly on purpose to hurt them) I have come to one conclusion...

Who cares about wondering anymore! Quite honestly, 'translators' can say whatever they want that the person is saying..and we would not know the difference! I'm trying to become fluent with the japanese language...so i can go there someday, but i'm just a novice!

(Although a friend of mine and i translated the kanji about one of the screen caps of the chick from ffxiii to be 'Mu-bi' so i'm guessing that may be her *** name or something...or last name..who knows? We also figured out Zack's last name seconds before adventchildren.net posted their facts up..whoo! We are working hard!)

All i know is, I rather just wait then wonder anymore. Too much mixed information up on the net..who knows what's true and what's not anymore.

Kingdom Hearts..to be honest, i'm not a fan. I play them and own them because they are S-E games..that's it. I hate the square chars in them..they are so bad...i enjoyed pounding faking sephy in kh2 cuz i knew he was fake XD i couldn't hurt the real one :( not after what i did to him in ffvii!)...disney is ok to a point..but it's disney. one really sucked char dev. wise..but kh2 has promise..IF it's continued that way.

I'll stick to FF being my most preferred of S-E thanks! And crisis core being 70% complete! WHOO! again..that may be poor translating too >> damn my inability to read japanese kanji yet!..only basic stuff..

I bought a psp..at first it became a paper weight..i couldn't find any games in town for it! good ones! only lemmings..and surprisingly..lemmings is damn expensive!!

so i went to EB in ottawa..and boom! found tons! I got VP:L, Blade Dancer, Kingdom of Paradise, MGS: OPS so far...and they are awesome games...

and i bought lemmings for 20$ there too XD couldn't resist! i love killing lemmings...one follow the other...hahahaha XD
