@whitey_rolls: Would love to see some hard bench-marks on this as well, rather than just peoples speculation. I'm still using a 2700K, overclocked to 4.6ghz, can actually push it higher, but don't really see any substantial gains from doing so. In synthetic cpu benchmarks it churns out the same score as a stock 4770K which is a couple of years ahead of it. Intels progression in actual cpu horsepower from one gen to the next was minimal for a long time there, until AMD came back on the scene, so I never was really tempted to upgrade, preferred to throw that money on a GPU upgrade. I'm thinking of doing a new PC build in the near future, hopefully if gpu prices come back down to normality, and would love to know if games really are utilizing the full power of the most modern chips, or would I still be able to get by for the time being with what I've got, and just upgrading my GPU again.

Is it weird that it didn't feel like Christmas this year, until I checked if San Andreas was covered in snow?

To be fair, you guy's don't help the issue, throwing fuel on the fire with your PS4/XB1 graphics comparisons every week.
