Infamous revolves around making decisions that affect the outcome of the game. The way people see you, treat you, and represent you is all a product of how your decisions play a role in their life. Prototype does not revolve around developing a personality. There is one objective to the game, and that is to ultimately find out who is the cause for the virus that is plaguing New York City. Whether or not you decide to butcher people along the way is your decision, and will not affect the outcome of the game. You are a vicious, vengeful, walking slaughterhouse.
Here is a little something I decided to type up for infamous. Feel free to disagree. Yes I did download the demo and I am not some fanboy trying to spoil the game. I do not own a 360.. I only own a Playstation 3. Infamous: =Fighting Style: Electricity (shooting, punching, smashing) - comes at a cost, though. *Graphics: Good enough to not break up the frame rate - Fear not blowing up a whole bunch of cars, if you have the power to do so that is. =Free Roam: Scaling alongside buildings is a breeze, but may take a few moments depending on the size and the architecture of the building. =Speed: Moving from here to there might take a while.. Human speed I guess you could say. =Variety: Good, but maybe not enough? Have I used that power before? Have I seen this building already? *Controls: Excellent. Easy to Learn. Took me about 5 minutes to master everything. =Sense of Power: Its ok. It seems like 1 reaper could kill you if they have slight advantage. Ripping electric out of appliances seem to become a chore.rather than a delightful opportunity. -Sense of Morale: There is a difference between good and bad, but it does not seem to affect the game play at all. The civilians do not seem to care whether you are good or bad. -Repetition: Of course scaling buildings and electrocuting enemies is fun, but would it get boring after a while? We are talking about the 30 or so hours I am supposedly going to be putting into this game after I buy it? =Better games: I probably would not spend this money for another game. -Multiplayer: No multiplayer. Should I buy a game with no multiplayer? Is it multiplayer that makes the Ps3 what it is? Wi-Fi! Hello! =Bonuses: Uncharted 2 Beta: I might play it, but I am not too excited about it. Gigawatt Blades: Seems cool, I guess..
I am still not quite sure which game I should get, or if I should just get both. I played the infamous demo today and I have to say I was quite impressed. The controls were easy to master and the game-play mechanics were amazing and enjoyable. The only thing I am worried about is boredom. I mean, wouldn't it be boring blowing up cars and causing chaos all day with hardly no one to stop you? Same goes for Prototype. A friend of mine from Gamestop gave me the demo code and I am playing the hell out of it. I am just worried that the game won't have too much to offer for the 60 bucks that I will supposedly be using to pay for it once the game releases. As for the Prototype vs. Infamous debate... how cares? They are both sandbox games, but other than that they are two completely different games. If I were you I would get a job cutting grass or something so you can get both and stop the drama on websites. jeez!
