@gamerboy100: Yup...damn shame two of the games I was most looking forward to this year I'm probably going to skip over unless they add an offline solo player mode or the game drops down to a sub $20 pricepoint. Even if I do wind up buying it on sale, I will never pay for a battlepass or anything off their store....anybody that spends cash on an always only game is basically throwing money away.
Most people think taking the Golden Seed is the best choice but I say take the Stonesword Key and use it on the very first one, the one right after the tutorial cave. Not only can you get a Golden Seed in there as well but also a really good Spirit Ashes, a charm that boosts your HP, stamina and carry weight, and a whole lot more. The only catch is that it's not easy, especially the dungeon's end boss, but it's worth it.
I remember someone else that trusted their instincts and backed out of a project because they didn't feel it would work out...remember Brian Dunkleman? He was the co-host on the first season of American Idol with Ryan Seacrest, but quit to pursue other opportunities that he felt would work out better for him. Last I heard, Seacrest was drowning in fame and cash while Dunkleman was driving for Uber.
Stories like this definitely make the idea of buying games like Outriders a hard sell, for me at least. I'm sure there are some people that will gladly rent the game for $60 for however long Square-Enix decides to keep the servers for the game up, but I'm not one of them.
@G2Megatron: I'd rather see a direct sequel to the first one, the one where we played both Decepticons and Autobots...that was my favorite one. The second one had the look and nostalgic feels, but the lack of a Decepticon storyline kinda turned me off of it.
I think I can survive on the onboard 1TB for a year or two for new games and my external for backwards compatible games...by then, the price should drop a bit.
Maybe it's just me but the days of getting overly hyped about a game without seeing some gameplay first are over...right now, the most I can muster up is mild curiosity for this game.
