Accidentally Killed My Girlfriend

We were both going on a nice motorbike ride, to a place just outside of town to get something to eat. While crossing the river bridge, I tipped the needle and went clear over the speed limit. But it was ok since I do the all the time. But then, suddenly a truck just pulled over just ahead of me. I tried to go around it, and hit the bridge fence. After that everything started spinning and I fell down. Luckily I wasn’t that much hurt. I got up and looked for my girl. But she was no where in sight. I took a peek over the bridge, and there she was, in the water.

She must have flown off when the bike hit the fence and fell into the river. Plus she couldn’t swim (I hate when that happens). So eventually she drowned and took the one way boat to the great river beyond. The problem was that I didn’t realize the complexity of the situation. I got on my bike (which was barely in a running condition) and when down the bridge to the riverside in hopes of finding her. Obviously she wasn’t there. I thought that now I should go home. On the way back, I just happened to check either she was back home or not. Her car wasn’t there so I assumed that she might not be home now (I didn’t notice the icon).

I went home and saved because I had done a lot of stuff before that. After a couple of days, I just went to her place to check up on her, but she wasn’t there. As I was about to leave I saw it, there was no icon on the map. At first, I thought it was just a glitch, so I reloaded and went there again only to find the same scenario. I then realized that if your girl dies, she actually “dies” and she is not there anymore, gone completely. And on top of that, I had saved the game after the incident. So this left me in a dilemma, either load from a previous point or continue life without her. I had did a lot of stuff before taking her out, (finished the boat school, completed 12 levels of Firefighter, won 12+ million by playing black jack at the Four Dragons), which was obviously not an easy task to accomplish again. On the other hand I had to risk continuing the game with one less girl by my side. That’s why I decided to lay off for a while and maybe get some advice from other people. So, what would you do if you were in my shoes.
