On the Halo series page at Wikipedia, an edit originated from Sony Computer Entertainment casts aspersions on Microsoft's Halo 3. In the Halo 3 section of the Halo page, Sony added "(Halo 3) wont look any better than Halo 2." (See the first and second story images attached below.) Since then, the Halo page has been corrected and locked from further vandalism.

The WikiScanner discovery is also reported on Wired's 'Threat Level'. (See Alternative Sources.) The report and IP address have been checked by Wired senior editor Kevin Poulsen, (i.e., see the third attached image for Poulsen's comments; "Sony insults Halo 3" is the second report after the Walmart report.)

Finally, the forth and last image was taken from a 'Whois' search at the RIPE.net database for "217.18.23.2", the IP address recorded by Wikipedia as having edited the Halo page. The query shows that 217.18.23.2 is registered to SCEE (Sony Computer Entertainment Europe) Liverpool Studios in Great Britain. The result also shows the studio's physical address, phone number, and email address.

Halo Gets Dissed

If you don't understand heres a short version of what happend

Ok SONY, NINTENDO, and MICROSOFT are competeing, Right? so Playstation and Xbox are like the closest rivals yet, but they don't care about Nintendo right now (not to get offensive), but anyway Sony Was afraid, that Microsoft was gonna make millions of dollars from the New Realease Halo 3 (coming September 25, 26) and so what Sony (Europe) Did was they said "Hey lets go to wikipedia and edit the text about Halo 3", and so they did, and they got sued, because Wikipedia tracked theire Phone number, IP adress, Location, and Microsoft saw it (Yeah they're screwed...)And Microsoft Reported this, and now at the link above that I inserted shows the older edit, and the newer edit of the Rant "Although it wouldn't look as good as Halo 2", So There you have it!, and it will be a drag if someone found you're IP adress, Phone Number, and Location, oh and mention they found they're Social Security Num, Other Words Sony Entertainment Europe Was Sued for a VERY high fine.
