I'm a big FF fan and whilst I didn't hate FF XIII, there seemed to be a lot of missed opportunities with it. The trouble is with the continuous stream of news of the game in the last few weeks there are a number of issues that I have already with FF XIII-2:

- Time travel mechanic: Really? Whilst it could be done cleverly I might just rather play Day of the Tentacle again.

- Jumping to different timelines:This seems to me like a rehash of jumping to different locations in FF X-2 and doing the different missions there.

- 150 monsters to collect:It's not Pokemon, its Final Fantasy.

- Playing as Noel and Serah throughout the whole game with the third party member as a monster: I'm not sure I really agree with this. I'd rather have a diverse range ofcharacters that grow and change.

- Playing as Serah fullstop: She was a complete liability in FF XIII and now we are expected to believe she can fight now? I can't see it.

- Ezio costume: I know I don't have tobuy it but ... I don't get it.

Look, it might end up being the best game I've ever played but the marketing strategy so far hasn't set my game anticipation-sense tingling. I am REALLY looking forward to what reviewers over here make of it because I find myself generally agreeing with the findings of KVO and others.

What I don't understand is why there has been no news on GS yet about the 40/40 it got from Famitsu. Now, you could say that FF XII also got the same score and personally, I can respect whatthat game achieved (content, gameplay mechanics etc) rather than loved it so I am taking the "perfect" score with a pinch of salt. But it does show that no matter what, it will probably be worth playing because itseems tohaveimproved immeasurably since FF XIII.

Admittedly, I quite enjoyed FF XIII but found it could be improved a lot. Now that is has happened, I am more tempted to buy it because before, with all the news that has been dripped through the media recently, I haven't been too enamoured with it. At least now they may finish Versus and bring Type-0 to Europe and America.

I am surprised to see that no-one has mentioned Lost Odyssey. I know it was a bit of a sleeper hit but I played it and generally quite enjoyed it. The combat had a lot of breadth and depth, which added to the strategic nature of its turn-based combat. The only thing that let it down was the slow pacing of the story and the narrative sub-stories. I also acknowledge that it did not feature on the PS3 (being an Xbox exclusive) but just thought I'd mention.

Did anyone play DQ IX? It uses the same tried and tested formula as the previous DQ games but that is one of the most charming and replayable turn-based RPGgames on the DS.

Resonance of Fate was also a decent game. I didn't get too far on it, I needed to get on with life at that point, but I enjoyed it. The only reason I haven't picked it up again is because, as everyone knows, once you stop playing a game for one day, that's when the rot sets in and it's like "Meh" every day after that.

The less said about Blue Dragon the better though.

However, having said that, you only need to look at Bioware and you wonder why they changed everything that was so great about Dragon Age: Origins and replaced it with Dragon Age 2 to realise that perhaps turn-based gaming is slowly dying out. Not that Dragon Age 2 was necessarily a bad game, just not on the same level as Dragon Age: Origins.

To me, Gears of War is, in every aspect, a poor man's Halo. Just like Saint's Row is a poor man's GTA. Someone thought they'd jump ona great-sellingbandwagon, added expletives to make it "edgier" and try to come up with a decent game. Sorry, not interested.

Final Fantasy: although I'm not looking forward to XIII-2.

Mass Effect: #3 is definitely a day 1 purchase.

Dragon Age: #2 was a big letdown.

Halo: epic story-telling

Anything by Valve andRockstar.

Has it been like 5 years since it was announced or something? I mean, the trailers look pretty sweet if they are meant to be likeCrisis Core, which I loved, but with a full party.

I'm looking forward to being able to customise my partyespecially if there's 14 playable characters to choose from. Hopefullythere will be different ways of building each of those characters as well. So if anything it will be a Final Fantasy version of Seiken Detenstu 3 in terms of party customisation(if there are any old school RPG players out there).

Well, we shall see. Hopefully with the announcement of Final Fantasy XIII-2 that does not mean that Agito/Type-0 won't be delayed any further like the PS3 owners won't have Versus delayed.

I've only played Bioshock 1 but it was one of the best games I played that year. Great gameplay, great story, great game.

The Kinect really shines when you have people to entertain. We've had a bunch of people over quite a few times andthe Kinect, especially DanceCentral and Kinect Sports. The bowling in Kinect Sports is always the one we play because its a lot of funand the competitiongenerates good banter. If there weregood RPGs or adventure games that cameon the Kinect, which I hope it will then I would play it single player as well. Butthe games on Kinect will get a lot better. I hope.
