[QUOTE="Welkabonz"] If that is the case then the Earth and Heavens never were one whole. Earth wasn't a part of the sun.Welkabonz

What are you talking about? The earth and sun werent even formed when the big bang happened.:|

Everything was a closed up mass thus yes they were "one" at the time.

Then how did the Earth and heavens split? :|

Becasue it started expanding and was spilt?

Oh and obviously the materials from which the earth and heavens were made were there in the mass.

Lastly science doesnt really itself have all the asnwers to these questions...

[QUOTE="Welkabonz"] Which still makes no sense given that the universe is still one whole.Welkabonz

It already gave the "earth and heavens" it's own identity.

The universe maybe one but the sun and earth arent "one", it doesnt work like that.:|

[QUOTE="Vagal_Fiddle_6"]You are claiming it be vague, if it has a meaning which fits the verse and scientific evidence then it is not an error.zakkro
Congratulations. You just admitted that as long as it fits the parameters you personally give it, then it is true. Good job.

Nop I didnt give it any parameters, I simply picked the defnition from the online dictionary. There were 2 meanings of it out of which one fitted in with the big bang. Both the meanings were mututally exclusive so obviously only one can work.:|

"was torn/clove asunder" is a common phrase used in literature. You cannot prove the meaning you give to it.

Are you gonna respond?

You are claiming it be vague, if it has a meaning which fits the verse and scientific evidence then it is not an error.

Point me a single error in quran and I'll leave Islam and I am serious. And yes we'll take it literally if you want it to be.

Teenaged

I told you I dont have an error to point out cause I have never read it. But mind you, a very familiar frined of us here at GS (Stranger_4 was his username, I dont suppose you know him, right.. ) had posted (along with MFarazHyat) a list of Quran verses and tried to prove how they predicted scientific information, thus trying to prove the validity of it. But to me those verses and the argumentation to support their "scientific nature" was not convincing at all. It was bare assertions and wishful thinking. When reading an allegory too many an interpretation will you come up with but just because you can stretch words to mean something to your liking doesnt make it true.

Also, I am not the one who wants to take it literally, I just assumed that you are one of those people who dont believe that scripture is meant to be read allegorically.

That's what you want to believe. I have shown you verses, you havent shown the other interpretations of them. What is there to interpret if the quran says that the earth is like an egg? How is such verses not falsifiable?

Oh please stop with the double standards. You people bash christians for believing in certain parts of the bible and not believing in some and now you are criticizing me for taking scripture as a whole and not parts of it. And most christians took the genesis creation story as literal before it fell flat on it's face in the light of observable evidence. Now everyone rushed back to metaphorical blah blah!

Seriously dude, you come off as if you are sincere about knowing the "truth" and you have never read the quran by yourself? That is irony of the highest level.

And yes we'll take it literally if you want it to be as long as the verse is talking about how God made something or how something works. If it's describing an event of history let's say a war and then you are pointing out a scientific flaw is not valid cuz it just wasnt talking science and needs furthur understanding of the verse before concluding it to be an error.

Welkabonz

The universe wasn't cloven into separate parts; it expanded as a whole (and still is).
