Playstation 3 = Crap

Alright, well I know it's not yet official, but if they decide to go through with selling the hard drive as a peripheral, it would potentially be the dumbest move in this decade of business.

Overall, I just think the PS3 is too powerful for its time period.  It's definitely in a league of its own in terms of the "next generation."  Far too advanced for this generation and obviously not advanced enough for the generation ahead of it, Sony may find (as they have been already), that the market is not ready for their technology yet.  Basically, everything's too expensive to produce and therefore impractical.  The 360--and I'm far from a fanboy--fits the "next-generation" criteria, while it may be somewhat flawed.  Blu-Ray, 60GB Hard Drive, and the Cell Processor are a little too far advanced.  The hardware is there for them to use, to be sure, but really, why?  I'd like to say that every gamer on Earth is exceedingly wealthy enough to afford a PS3...but I'd obviously be lying.  Thus, I assume, the rationale for selling the hard drive separately.  But then, why even bother with advanced technology if you're going to have to cut costs by ridding the system of its fundamental parts???

Dumb.  Good luck, Sony.  Anyway, I'll buy one if it manages to be fairly priced and with a hard drive included...I don't know how many gamers in the know would laugh their asses off, however, if yet another Playstation is minus a hard drive pre-installed.

At the end of the day, it's still all about the games.  GTA will no longer be an exclusive title and I could pretty much care less if I had to live without the remaining MGS games......

Ohio University

I'm officially headed for Ohio University after getting accepted to their school of English.  I'm very excited to say the least...all that's left for me to do is to graduate.  Hopefully my senioritis will be cured by the time I make it to college because I doubt my current lack of motivation will work in my current goal of becoming either an English or History teacher......

Schoolwork Out The Ass...

Man, it can't get much worse than this. I spent all summer basically doing nothing and now I have three books to read for my upcoming Advanced Placement (AP) English class. I've got King Lear (which I'm in the middle of right now), Wuthering Heights, and Tess of the d'Urbervilles. Basically what that amounts to is about 800 pages of reading plus a bunch of ridiculously stupid reading logs, where we have to find 20 examples of Themes, 20 of Plot Devices, 20 Character Descriptions, and 20 Vocabulary words--for each novel. First I have to find a passage, write it down, and then explain the significance of the passage as it pertains to the topic at hand. Sounds fun, doesn't it? Four books are required, I have one, The Awakening, done--but I still have to finish the reading log. School starts on the "lovely" morning of Monday, August 29, 2005. I'm finally a Senior, but this may very well be the least fun--definitely the most challenging--year of my academic career. Oh by the way, throughout the course of the semester, I'm also going to be required to read five additional books on top of those that have to be done before school starts. English is my forte and it's what I'm probably what I'm going to end up doing in preparation for my future career, but this course is definitely gonna kick my ass!!!!!
