Indeed, today marks the commencement of my membership with this hallowed site: gamespot.com. I am saddened to discover however, that the current console debate between gamers on this site lacks both substance as well as reason. In this manner,as a gamer, I am somewhat chagrined by the rather immature console debates that are conducted on this formerly prestigious site. In observation, I have noticed that the general course of a console conversation initiates and continues in this way:

Gamer 1: Wow, after intensely searching the news wires, I find that a new game has been announced this fall for PS3. This should only help in its fiscal domination this fall.

Gamer 2: Yeah right, Sony sucks, and it's too expensive! You are gay for even thinking that Sony has a good system. Halo 3 baby!

Gamer 3: You are both gay Nintendo, being the cheapest alternative will truly show both Microsoft and Nintendo.

Gamer 1: Shut up you're gay

Gamer 2: Yeah you are so dumb

Gamer 3: You guys have no life!

As evidenced by the above example, it seems current discussions on gaming are quite stale. To compensate, gamespot posters seem to rely on hackneyed arguments and catch-phrases. In accordance, such detriment should not be tolerated. It appears it is up to gamespot populace to eliminate such swill and raise the collective debate and reasoning of this site. Only through intelligent discourse and cogent examples can this site truly provide provocative and informative data to other gamers. And through this, one's enjoyment of this site increases exponentially. (At least in the opinion of this gamer)
