[QUOTE="Vash1202"]-Combatting while riding on horseback- New but not all that important - None the less an "evolution" in gameplay
-MASSIVE world (45 minutes to get from one end to other)- Zelda has always been massive - Neither Ocarina of Time nor Windwaker comes even close to the size and the interactivity of Hyrule Field in TP ALONE. (it takes 30 minutes to sail from one end to other in Windwaker, even less to cross Hyrule Field on Epona in Ocarina of Time)
-Incredible amounts of minigames (fishing, herding, etc...)- Zelda always had lots of minigames.- Not with the Wii remote, which definately EVOLVES the gameplay of the minigames (fishing mechanics, sumo wrestling, etc...)
-Intricate (also more dark) and cinematic storytelling- He mentioned that - Towards his argument that Zelda hasn't evolved, he conveniently forgot about that in his closing argument.
-You transform into a wolf with a whole different system of combatting (did the other Zelda games have that?)- Ok, you got me there.- *muah* (jk)
-LONG game (Matt from IGN said 50-70 hours)- He mentioned that - He said 35-40 hours of gameplay (That seriously undermines the massiveness of the game making it seem like the same length as Ocarina of Time... probably contributing to him saying that Zelda hasn't evolved)
-New kinds of dungeons (Matt said aside from the standard fire and water dungeons there's also plenty new elemental types)- New elements?! OMG! So? A dungeon is still a dungeon - Playing through NEW types of dungeons is defnately sign of improvement and evolution in my opinion. (My weakest point...you kind of got me here)-A new intuitive way to switch weapons (instead of pressing "start" everytime you need a different item)- NO WAI! NEW WEAPON SWITCH!?!? Once, again, so? That means pretty much nothing. - It DOES mean something because this new way of switching weapons is made possible by the Wii controller and it shows sign of evolution for a more intuitive control design.
I'm not trying to say Zelda: TP is REVOLUTIONARY. But from what I know about it, Zelda: TP is definately EVOLUTIONARY (meaning it improved the Zelda formula).

Gamepot's review is not very good. :(
From what i know about the Wii so far. Jeff did not give Zelda a chance at a high score
"Objectively speaking, it's still a little disappointing that the series hasn't evolved much at all with this latest installment."
-Jeff Gerstmann
-------
He basically is saying that TP is an updated Ocarina of Time with
"updated visuals, some new twists, plenty of challenging puzzles, and a faithful dedication to the series' roots"
But he forgets about the ambitious efforts of Nintendo and the evolution in gameplay, especially the-
-Combatting while riding on horseback
-MASSIVE world (45 minutes to get from one end to other)
-Incredible amounts of minigames (fishing, herding, etc...)
-Intricate (also more dark) and cinematic storytelling
-You transform into a wolf with a whole different system of combatting (did the other Zelda games have that?)

-Many more that Nintendo hasn't revealed
Basically, there are people who are trying to argue that his review is spot on and speaks objectively... if you dissect it thoroughly, the reviewer never even mentions all of the new features of TP and basically lowers the score because of the lack of "evolution." The evolution's definately there I bet, only he was too biased against the Wii to see it.
P.S. This is just my opinion
