That's too bad. You'd think a ps3 with hdmi cables would be enough.

I've owned a slim for over a year and a ps3 for 3-4 months. I don't use my psp too much anymore but I was bored today and decided to try remote play. I was hoping I could play psp games on my tv through the ps3. Do I have to get the psp component cables to play through tv or is there a way to use the ps3 to play it on my tv? I haven't found any info searching the web so I'm guessing no. But wouldn't it be cool/make sense if you could? I mean, watching 24 on my psp with my stereo playing the sound was only amusing for a few minutes(especially since the sound was a bit off sync.) Remote play just seems a bit useless to me otherwise.

I'm going to stress test my cpu and ram overnight to see if it's a hardware issue. Which, from what I read, can lead to this error(as can many other things sigh...). Ram, PSU, mobo, audio. Who knows. I guess I'll start with ram.

I just tried playing Far Cry 2 and while it was loading I got "Nv4_disp display driver has stopped working normally". One of those problems that has no simple solution I guess.

I installed fallout 3 the other day and about 15 min in the screen starts to turn green and it freezes. I went to fallout forums to see if it's a problem with the game. And it appeared that it was for some people. Some of the solutions were to reinstall drivers, disable ffdshow audio/video decoders, playing in windowed mode. None of that seemed to work. I uninstalled Fallout 3 and figured Id wait for a patch.

Here's the big problem. All the games I play that worked before I installed fallout 3 do the same thing now. Sometimes they freeze right away and the screen goes black and I alt+tab out and close it. Sometimes the screen will turn green and freeze(with audio still going). Sometimes(rarely) the game would run for a couple hours with no problems, until lately.

Ive tried:
*Uninstalling drivers, using driver cleaner(safe mode) and reinstalling with my AV turned off. I've tried older drivers and brand new drivers. I've done the same with my audio drivers.
*I've reinstalled directX
*I've dusted my entire rig.
*I monitor cpu/gpu temps and use rivatuner and all temps are at acceptable ranges.
*I use ATItool to overclock my GPU and I've tried running at stock and underclocking.
(When I scan for artifacts with ATI it freezes almost immediately now, regardless of the clocking. At least that rules out audio issues).
*I've updated my MOBO chipset drivers.
*Windows is up to date.
*I've cried myself to sleep.

Out of about 30 crashes over the last few days, a couple times early on I got a message that my nv4_disp driver crashed. But 9 times out of 10 it just freezes with audio and I'm able to alt+tab out after a minute or so. Maybe if I just sat and waited I'd get the nv4_disp message more, I don't know. But I haven't seen the BSOD yet, thank god. Could this be a secuROM issue? I have other games with secuROM.

All my games (COD4&5, RSV1+2, Dead Space, Far Cry 2, The Witcher, Gears of War and many more) worked perfectly until I installed Fallout 3. The only solution I can think of is to get a new GPU, or at least try it in someone elses rig. I might try reinstalling XP too. Anyone have any ideas?
