Top 10 Scariest Enemies - PS3 Edition - Final Part

Here's my opinion on my top 5 scariest enemies :)

Click here if you missed the First Part.

#5 - Needlers - Silent Hill: Homecoming

If you have a fear of spiders, then you certainly won't like this deformed monstrosity! It appears humanoid, but once it enters the light you can see the limbs are replaced with sharp blades that it uses to crawl around with and attack. In the hotel level of SH: Homecoming, I honestly didn't want to continue to the end of the corridor, as I could see the spider-like shadow of the needler crawling on the ceiling awaiting to attack.

#4 - Nightmares - FEAR

Sadly, pictures for this creepy enemy won't upload. Click here to see.

Initially appearing as apparitions by Alma Wade in FEAR, these terrifying spirits named Nightmares glide towards you emitting shrill cries. But it gets worse when they begin entering the real world through portals in large numbers, all happening in almost complete darkness. Truly chilling enemies.

#3 - Chainsaw Majini - Resident Evil 5

This enemy appears as a mini boss occasionally throughout Resident Evil 5, and its a boss fight I dread. Charging at you with nothing but a chainsaw and a chilling white eye, the chainsaw majini is terrifying when you first encounter him. This undead monster also takes a hell of a lot of bullets to bring it down, making the tense duel even more suspenseful.

#2 - Alma - FEAR and FEAR 2

The identity and mystery of Alma Wade is the very core of the firstgame, first appearing in the introduction, Alma's presence is felt constantly throughout the game, with hints and glimpses of her life made throughout the game's use of visions. She appears as a little eight year old girl wearing a red dress and has a disturbingly blank, mask-like face almost completely obscured by long dark hair. Right from her first appearance, it is never quite clear if Alma is real, or only exists in the minds of the people seeing her. Bloody footprints can be found in some places where she walks, and when she appears near you, its often shadows or brief glimpses accompanied by a chilling giggle.

In FEAR 2, she takes a step further, because of the telekinetic connection between the protagonist and her, and sometimes tries to attack you, further enhancing the fear because of the fact you don't know if she'll hold back or lunge at you. A lot older, and certainly more disturbing in appearance, Alma's abilities show her authority of power, and the nasty aspect of her fiery possession and obsessionto frighten you.

#1 - Necromorphs - Dead Space

Dead Space is the scariest game I've ever played, the sound, the atmosphere and the bloody imagery do a fantastic job to achieve that, but above all, the necromorph alien race constantly prove menacing, and make for a terrifying gameplay experience. Dismembering them is your only option, as headshots can sometimes just make them more aggressive and violent, and the way they adapt to severed limbs is extraordinary to witness as well as frightening, and its no doubt why in my mind they make this top spot for the most scariest enemy.
