Here's the second half of my list, with pretty much every movie I list being ones I want to see on the big screen.

Man of Steel
Just like Christopher Nolan's stunning Dark Knight trilogy, this comic book adaptation and reboot will portray the DC character's origin story; rising from a boy into the superhero in a very realistic way unlike the Christopher Reeve series of Superman films. With Nolan producing and Hans Zimmer providing the music, you can guarentee this will be a highly moving, emotionally intense action film that will start slowly, engross you, and then come to a close with a bang. The trailer is amazing, here it is.

Fast and Furious 6
The previous entry in the exciting street racing franchise elevated proceedings dramatically in terms of stunts, action and cast, ultimately proving the best in the series so far. Fast and Furious 6 is no doubt going to continue its run of form with a great cast, and from the trailer it seems there will be a lot more adrenaline fueled chases and risky stunts. Here's the proof.

Riddick
Another famous leading role for Vin Diesel returns this year in this much anticipated sequel in The Chronicles of Riddick Sc-Fi action series. This time, betrayed by his own kind and left for dead on a desolate planet, Riddick fights for survival against alien predators and becomes more powerful and dangerous than ever before. Soon bounty hunters from throughout the galaxy descend on Riddick only to find themselves pawns in his greater scheme for revenge. With his enemies right where he wants them, Riddick unleashes a vicious attack of vengeance before returning to his home planet of Furya to save it from destruction. Sounds awesome! Can't wait!

Dark Skies
Already out in the US, this Sci-Fi Horror has yet to hit theatres in the UK at the moment (due out next month). It's about a suburban couple who grow increasingly isolated from their friends and neighbors as they fight to protect their children from being abducted by malevolent extraterrestrials. From the producers of Paranormal Activity and Insidious you can bet there will be jump scares scattered throughout, but I also hope they manage to create enough menace to keep me genuinely unsettled as the movie winds up to a climax. I'm really looking forward to it, and the trailer was pretty good. Check it out!

Pacific Rim
This upcoming science fiction film directed by Guillermo del Toro is set in a near future where soldiers piloting giant robots battle against invading giant monsters who have mysteriously risen from beneath the ocean. With a gigantic budget primarily for the sensational special effects you come to expect of a blockbuster movie dangling that premise in front of your gleaming eyes, I honestly don't think this movie will fail (except for critics of course who'll moan about the plot and characters like they always do nowadays in action movies). Here's the awesome trailer!

World War Z
Based upon the novel of the same name, this upcoming post-apocalyptic horror starring Brad Pitt is about a worker at the United Nations as he searches the globe for information that can stop the zombie outbreak that is bringing down nations. Like Pacific Rim, an enormous budget is in place for the special effects, and considering the masses of zombies on screen at a time, it's amazing that its even achievable, as zombies are so plentiful that they form tsunamis of undead scrambling to find human flesh from survivors. It looks brilliant, and I'm convinced it'll recover it's budget and prove an entertaining movie despite it's production issue in which the entire third act had to be re-written and re-shot because it supposedly wasn't good enough. Here's the trailer.

Elysium
Officially my most anticipated movie of the year, this gritty science fiction thriller is being written and directed by Neill Blomkamp (who was behind the breathtaking District 9), and takes place on a ravaged Earth and space habitat named Elysium. Here's the plot outline:
"In the year 2159, two classes of people exist: the very wealthy, who live on a pristine man-made space station called Elysium, and the rest, who live on an overpopulated, ruined Earth. The people of Earth are desperate to escape the planets crime and poverty, and they critically need the state-of-the-art medical care available on Elysium but some in Elysium will stop at nothing to enforce anti-immigration laws and preserve their citizens luxurious lifestyle. The only man with the chance to bring equality to these worlds is Max (Matt Damon), an ordinary guy in desperate need to get to Elysium. With his life hanging in the balance, he reluctantly takes on a dangerous mission one that pits him against Elysiums Secretary Delacourt (Jodie Foster) and her hard-line forces but if he succeeds, he could save not only his own life, but millions of people on Earth as well."
With a solid budget, an acclaimed director, and a great cast, I'm extremely eager for the first trailer to be shown. I'm convinced this will be a hit, and it also stars District 9's Sharlto Copley as an assassin sent after Damon.
