There are always people that make it very clear to you or anyone else that they are "too good" to play video games. Do you know any of these people and if so, what do you think of them?

Personally, I feel nobody has a legitimate reason to think they're too good to play a video game. They may not enjoy them, but to act like people who do are idiots is ridiculous. The same applies for any other form of entertainment really.

Also, why do you think some people act this way? I'm fairly certain that at least some of these type of people watch sports on television, watch movies, etc., what makes those activities any more worthwhile?

Let me add that I don't think video games are the only form of entertainment that is any good. I enjoy novels, comics, films, etc. as well.

I guess some people like to feel superior to others even when there is no basis for their thinking. The world is not suffering from a lack of such people.

It's nice to have good graphics but if we assign 100 points to a game 90 of them would be assigned to the game play and only 10 to graphics. The game has got to be good. No amount of great graphics can make up for a poor game.

[QUOTE="lpjazzman220"]

i like open world games..but there has to be direction...and some linear stuff...i really hate open world games that throw u in a universe with no direction...and u have to figure out what to do...

Reminds me of the first time I played Morrowind. I didn't know what the ***k I was doing when I first played it.Although in retrospect, that's one of the better examples of an open world environment. Cause once you get to know the game,there really is a suprising amount which you can do.

i actually like morrowind...its one of the best open world games...i was thinkin more along the lines of the new stalker game...soooo lost for most of it...actually the whole franchise feels kinda undirected till about 3 or 4 hours in...

Stalker has an element of openness about it but it is nothing compared to Morrowind. An excellent example of what open world games should be like.

Open world for sure. I love exploring and being able to come at an objective from all different angles and different tactics. I like a game where you can succeed using varied tactics.

for some reason I don't remember the deathclaws being that annoying in Fallout 3, but when I played New Vegas they really got to me (hated them!)lamprey263
Yes i agree. Deathclaws are more potent in New Vagas then they where in Fallout 3.

I used to be able to play games for similar time periods. When i was new to gaming and had a good game to play. I remember putting in 12 hour sessions with Civilization. But now after playing games for a few good years now, i cannot play a game for more than 2 hours before i need to play a different game or do something else. I don't think it has anything to do with my attention span shortening. I think it is a combination of the novelty of games wearing off, cause i have played every type of game out there, it is very rare to find a game that has something new to keep me playing. And these days most games are not really good. They are far superior in graphics and sounds ect. But when it comes to actual game play the quality has gone down. many games have been simplified, dumbed down to make them easier to play. I also suspect that in the past the leaders of game making companies where more likely to be Gamers themselves, knowing a good game when they saw it, These days i think most heads of gaming companies are hard headed business men who have no idea what people like to play. I got the feeling that a game development team that focuses on having great graphics and good sound will beat a team that focuses on making a top game but does not have the flashy graphics and crash bang boom sounds, When they both come and present their product to their Boss.

[QUOTE="Robbazking"]All we need now is Westerboro bapdist church mocking the victims.Ingenemployee

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/01/09/westboro-baptist-church-arizona_n_806319.html

you mean like this?

You really got to wonder why an insignificat church like westboro-baptist-church with only a couple of hundred members gets so much coverage in the world Media. Are they trying to do there best to make a small group of extremists look like the norm?
