A good thread: Opinion backed up by arguments. E.g "I don't like this game as much as I thought I would, I think that X isn't that good and Y needs work while Z was lacking. You should go more in depth before making a thread as well. Your thread: Loads of people like it and I don't like it Seriously? Making this board even worse? So all I see when someone mentions the words "best RTS ever" loads of people immediately say starcraft 2. I played the other day, and while it is not a bad game I can think of quite a few RTS's which are better than it. Of course that is just my opinion but is there something i am missing?

[QUOTE="Elann2008"]To me, when a new developer steps in and doesn't allow the original developer to go the lengths to improve their previous games, that just screams "move along, nothing to see here." I played the demo, and I thought it was very average. Graphics aren't even impressive, generic-looking, and static like the review said. Nothing special or dynamic. dakan45Depends how you define "improve their previous game" because if you take a look at risen you will see they use the same clunky and frustrating combat system and controls and exactly the same monster ai they used in the very first game with exactly the same bugs. I for one i am happy that this game is done diffirently. How was Risen clunky?

Why would you care about cheats in SP anyway? The campaign is only challenging on Brutal, and legit cheats are available for all to see and use.

...who are you to say how people should have their fun? Sure you and I and the majority probably don't have interest in trainers, but it seems a bit farfetched to suspend someone from playing just because they are modding the single player portion of the game, which has no quantitive effect on your rank class or match-up choices.
They're modifying Blizzard's product and it's been stated over and over that it isn't allowed. They only have themselves to blame.Learn to deal with cheese instead. There's more than plenty of cheese up until platinum and occurs fairly often in diamond. Only way to avoid it is to play mates and decide no one is allowed to cheese.i love the game but I'm still in bronze. and people really ruin the game by cheesing. your probably at a level you get a decent opponent to play against. The starcraft community is great but the game is very easily ruined.

[QUOTE="Vfanek"][QUOTE="Wakanoid"]Does anybody agree that Starcraft 2 doesn't require that much skill?WakanoidBold words from a platinum player, in 2v2s nonetheless. Well you see, I mean it DOES require skill. But I mean, I have horrible connection issues, so in random 2's I went from plat to silver (From d/c's) I've easily lost 60+ games from disconnecting. Now I'm usually matched up with bronze, and I swear some players I outskill by a mile can still come up with dumb strategies and win the game. Like rushing void rays, mass marines, mass zealot, 6 pool. Get my point? Yes, and I don't disagree. You don't need to be very 'skilled' at lower skill levels (yes, I realize how stupid that sounds). While it's difficult to learn the game initially, you pick it up quite fast and it doesn't take long before anyone is able to stomp on new players. It's when you get to higher levels of play that skill is more important than having a gimmick you rely on. Y'know, you can get quite far with proxy void rays, but after a while you'll encounter people who know how to deal with it. So yeah, you can beat really terrible players with stupid builds, doesn't say a whole lot though.
