Oblivion...masterpiece!

I've been putting alot of hours into Oblivion lately and it's been a blast. I'm currently doing the quest line for the thief and it's probally the most interesting side quest I played in a video game. Also I love how mostly all the characters are unique(plenty of ugly people though). Back to Oblivion!

Sony is getting lame

Plenty of PS3 and PSP news but nothing too shocking. Let's review what they've announced.

1. PS3 to ship a million units a month.
Talk is talk. I believe it when I see it

2. Worldwide launch
Not surprise about this considering that Sony MUST ship this year to compete with Microsoft

3. All games to require Blu Ray to prevent piracy
It's a shame that it will cost publishers more money considering that most games will be under 8 gigs.

4. Offering "free" basic online services
I would expect it to be similiar to XBL silver which everything is free except for online play

Now this is what is making me angry....

1. PSP to offer PS1 games
Why the heck would you go back another gen when most of the games on your system are remakes of PS2 games. It's simply a waste of time and money to offer this option

2. Sony is not being innovative at all. They are basically copying everyone's ideas and sticking it in their consoles. The online service"will feature community tools including lobby matching and voice chat,". Heck there are even rumors that Sony is making an achivement system similiar to xbox 360. Also the 4d remark was hilarious since we're already in 4d.

3. All talk but no show of software. Where are gameplay footages? The untold legends screenshots were horrible.

4. Eyetoy for PSP...wtf? I don't even have to talk about this because it's dumb enough as it is

Im still getting a PS3 but Sony has been dropping the ball as the "king" of the gaming industry to me.

JRPGs..what happened to the genre?

When I was young, new JRPGs would always make me happy because they were an amazing experience. Going back from NES to Playstation, RPGs were at its finest.

Classics such as Phantasy Star series, FF 3 and 7, Skies of Arcadia, Suikoden 2, and Chrono series would consume 100s of hours of my life. Present time, JRPGs are somewhat dead to me. The last "great" RPG game I've played was Final Fantasy X. Recent RPG. I tried playing Dragon Quest 8 the other day which was critically acclaim but seems really boring to me.

So the question is...what happened?

Well here's what I think. Once again, I love RPGs as a child with amazing storyline and saving the world with the game's party. Now I'm fed up with the same generic storyline and hope the genre changes. Maybe something like destroying the world instead of saving it would be very neat.

Too much cutscenes. I know that they are essential to tell storyline but don't go overboard with it. Xenosaga, Star Oceans, and others are a few examples.

Gameplay is too slow imo. Maybe I've been playing too much FPS in the past few years that I'm getting sick of the turn base combat system.

Has anyone else been experiencing this?

Steeler's 12th man = The Ref

Steeler's 12th man = The Ref
I couldn't believe some of the calls today made today and how many flags were put on the field. Oh well, I guess they gotta set up the game somehow ;)

The superbowl commercials were dissapointing this year except for the beer commercials and the FedEx. Godaddy.com was alright. If you missed them then you can check it out here...
http://www.tv.com/feature/superbowl-xl/

Pre-game show and half time show were really horriable(they couldn't pick better people for the SUPERBOWL?) Would rather listen to U2 than old rolling stones

Oh well. time to end rant. I did have some good BBQ today though and finished my composition paper. later

Reached 10k Gamerscore on Xbox 360

It's been nearly 2 months since the release of Xbox 360 and what an amazing piece of hardware it is. I really enjoy this achievement system because the drive to keep playing different games is awesome even if it's a horriable game. Can't wait next month for Fight Night 3 and Full Auto.

Still playing Dead or Alive 4 and stuck at B+ ranked for quite some time. The rating system is balanced out considering I can't beat anyone above A- but below ranks are a piece of cake. Going to learn how to play some new characters because my Ryu has been too predictable. Just got the FFXI beta disc and it plays good as my PC. Wish it had mic support though but square enix is too lazy imo

Also, I'm surprise I haven't touched my current gen consoles
since I got the Xbox 360. I still need to beat I Love Katamari and Devil May Cry 3. The reason is I would rather spend time on getting more achievements on the 360 hehe.

Im hooked to it...NEED MORE POINTS!!! ;)

The King of All Media

Howard Stern premiered on Sirius today and the wait was worth it. The casts are hilarious as always and the new announcer is awesome. The announcer is George Tacket, the asian dude from Star Trek, and has a great voice. I was surprise on how well he took the gay jokes about himself and it's good that he has a sense of humor. Also the show went on for 2 hours without any commercials which was great. Today's show was the announcement about Howard not getting married to Beth and the cast's revelations. The revelations were shocking as hell and can't wait to hear who was the person that pleasured himself about his relatives.

Also it's nice to know that Stern made a rule to prevent language to a minimum unless it fits into a funny joke.

Hazaa! Street Fighter 2 & Texas Holdem coming to XBL

During Microsoft's keynote at CES, Peter Moore announced that SF 2 and Texas Holdem will be coming to Xbox live arcade. Starting to love this Arcade system even more :)

Street fighter 2 on my HDTV would be hella sweet...even though I already own SF Anniversary.

Year In Review: 2005

What a crazy year for me. Time for me to recap all the events that happened

1. Graduted from high school- Fastest 4 years of my life and learned alot of great stuff. I never took senior year seriously and usually screwed around campus lol. Already missed alot of my friends that moved to colleges but that's part of life and you have to move on

2. College- Stress, stress, and more stress!! Professors giving assignments every other day and writing the most pointless essays. The only perks of college is freedom and having classes on M,W,F instead of every weekday like high school. It's a shame that Hurricane Rita forced our university to extend school by 2 weeks and finished this semester last week. Time flys by fast because next semester starts in 2 weeks >_<

3. Hurricane Rita- Once in a life time experience especially in Southeast Texas. I won't **** about it in my blog that much but going to give a warning. If you know that a hurricane is going to hit your city 3 days before it comes, make sure you clean out your refrigerator/freezer. I guarantee that your mayor won't allow you in the city because it will be a hazard zone for 2-4 weeks. No electricity for 2-4 weeks= your ice cream will be all over the floor when you get home

4. Games!- Alot of great titles that occupied me this year and tons of good news that promises a great 2006. Nintendo Revolution, Playstation 3, and more great titles for the Xbox 360. I hope the PSP gets better games in the future because it's been collecting dust for the past 3-4 months. Lumines was an amazing title for it though. The last quarter has especially been great because of the Xbox 360. The 360 is an amazing piece of hardware and Xbox live is so well integrated in the system. Also gamerscore is so badass(can't wait to show off the achievement for legendary mode in halo 3...that's if I can actually beat it). Picked up DOA 4 today and having a blast with it. The online plays great except when more than 5+ people are in the game so make sure you limit the room people! Fast paced fighting game and my review will be up for it in the next few days.

Choosing a game of the year was pretty tough on me especially with titles like Ninja Gaiden: Black, Resident Evil 4, Far Cry: Instincts, and Battlefield 2.

The winner is....

This is probally the only reason I kept my Gamecube this year because of this badass game.(and Zelda!) It's cool how they revamped the series with more fast paced action and intense situtations. Also I was surprised on the length of the game because it took me about 15-18 hours to beat it. Must buy game if you haven't played it

Games that I love in 2005:

Back to Dead or Alive 4!

Happy Holidays everyone!

Happy Holidays fellow Gamespotters. Im not sure if New Years is involved with HH but oh well. My Christmas was the same as usual by going to church in the morning and watching basketball games the whole day. Was hoping San Antonio would win but they made too many mistakes. This year's Christmas gifts were so-so and received a wallet, cash, nice Aeropostale hoody, and a home kit for my Sirius Radio. By the way, if you listen to AM/FM radio, then I highly recommend Sirius Radio. I usually don't mind advertising, but my local stations kills the airwaves with car commercials and club promotions. No commercials rock and Howard Stern is coming on Sirius Radio! Time to get back to my Xbox 360 and unlock some more achievements.

The perfect radio

How I gave one kid in the hospital the best Christmas ever

I went to the hospital last week and went to see my uncle because he had to get surgery for his throat. He's an old guy and was in intensive care. While on my way to see my uncle, I saw a depress kid about 12 years old, 4 rooms away who was all alone by herself watching the Weather Channel. I walked by and visited my uncle for an hour or so. On the way back, I still saw the kid with a sad look on her face. I decided to talk to her and found out that she had her leg amputated because of a car accident. Her parents only visit her at night when they are done with work so shes bored most of the day. Also she opened up her name for me, it's Lisa.

I was planning on buying a wireless network adapter for my 360 and another 360 controller which costs about 150 bucks. Instead I went to EB games and bought a new blue nintendo ds, animal crossing, and mario kart ds. Also I gave her my old copies of Nintendogs, feel the magic, and super mario 64 ds which I never play anymore. She was very excited and started screaming which was hilarious when the nurse came in and thought something horriable has happened. She thanked me but I couldnt say anything back, I felt so bad about her losing a leg. 2 days later, I went to go visit my uncle and Lisa's mom thanked me and Lisa has been playing the Nintendo DS all day. She promised to pay me whatever the price the games cost. I refused the money and told her that I did it just for fun. I feel so glad that I have given someone a great christmas gift. Her mom gave me their phone number to keep in touch so I will always have someone to play with for my DS
