Well, not always. But yesterday I went to the cinema for the first time in like forever, and me and some friends watched Shrek the Third. I'm actually a huge fan of the two first Shreks, especially the second. They always managed to please parents and kids alike, as well as sporting great comedy with small cameos and parodies. And most of all, they actually portray real emotions, whilst still being a fairy tale about ogres and tlaking donkeys. I had heard some really bad stuff about the latest installment, so I wasn't all that excited as I'd usually be when I saw it, but I was pleasantly surprised. It didn't have the comedy of the second film, and it lacked some of the sweet story telling and originality of the first. But even though the plot wasn't as great as in its predecessors the funny character and awesome wit and actors made it a great movie. So my hope for good sequels is actually restored with Shrek the Third. I am worried however, because I've heard rumors that they're going to do at least three more movies, and I don't think that has ever ended with a happily ever after.
