One more kill, dear, one more sigh...

–Petition against overdramatizing narrators in combat-related video games...

In most video games, narrators and voice-over tend to be overly dramatic as far as human falls and fallacies are concerned, quite in the way of Splinter Cell's god-like Lambert: "Fisher, who do you believe you are? Mission is over!"– Pitiless, irreversibly: mission failed, you're dead, the one or the other way.

So I've been highly surprised when stumbling over the old Ghost Recon (Ubisoft) Xbox edition from 2002 recently with the narrator intonating quite a softer tone in commenting on (enemy) killings in grey Caucasus mountains and wet Baltic forests his soft-voiced "Another kill" or "He's history" reminding me almost on Blade Runner's famous tune, by Vangelis, "One more kiss, dear, one more sigh / only this, dear, is good-bye".

And I found it quite appealing an idea of appeasing or even contrasting comments and music in video games as known from cinema (Clockwork Orange!) sugaring dramatic events instead of the overall sound effects being all in the same vein...

I'd be grateful for any further contributions to this idea, thanks!
