I have a GeForce 5200 FX and I can run any Source engine game on medium. With his card Half-Life 2 and other Source games will run fine.

Anyways if your interested in online games get Counter-Strike:Source, maybe Day of Defeat:Source (only if you like WW2). If you buy Half-Life 2 you should get CS:S with it. You also can get some good mods if you have HL2, like Insurgency Mod.

Haha yeah. I remember when it was a free mod, but then Valve comes in "Oh look theres 300 thousand people playing this, lets hire the guys to make an update exactly the same and charge people $10 for it then stop supporting the free mod! wow we're so smart, break out the champaign!" whgresiak

You have no clue. CS 1.6 and 1.5 are totally different. If you have played both (playing 1.5 within days of playing 1.6) you would notice a large difference. The gameplay, the look, and the feel of the game. By making 1.6, Valve made CS 2x more fun, 2x more accessible, and 10x more popular.

No it hasn't been free. Only 1.5 and lower are free. 1.6 is $10 and source is $20 you can't get either of them free. 1.5 you can download and still play as a mod if you have the original half life but otherwise no it's not freewhgresiak

I purchased Half-Life when it first came out. When CS 1.6 was released it was still free if you had Half-Life. If you buy Half-Life 2 you receive CS:Source with it free. So technically Counter-Strike can be free.

I basically have the same setup as you. I play Half-Life 2, CS:Source, DOD:Source, America's Army, KOTOR 1&2. All of those I can run on atleast medium settings. For the Source games (including HL2) I can run on some higher settings. The KOTOR games I can run everything on high. All of those games are amazing and should be purchased for any gamer that enjoys FPS and RPG.

And if you are completely new to steam, to enter that command....

Go to Advanced Options and enable console. Then press ~ (button above escape on normal keyboard) and enter the command.

Hope the command fixes the problem, DoD:S is a great game.

[QUOTE="inyourface_12"]which one should i buy. both are the same price Jack_Summersby

CS:S is a great game if you have the patience to train - you'll get pwned the first 50 rounds you play.

COD:2 is a boring sh$$ fest and HL2 Episodes are very short.

1. CS:S and DOD:S

2. Half Life 2:Episode 2

3. COD2

CS:S is insanely easy, if you have to train to be good, quit fps.

CS:S and DOD:S package is the best deal. 2 games for the price of half a game?

Everyone has been talking about ep1, but the poll is ep2. If you enjoyed HL HL2 and ep1 and cant get enough of the story then maybe ep2 is for you.

I have been told by three of my friends that cod2 blows compared to cod and cod uo. And usually when the sequal looks better but is worse its a horrible game. yeah think thats it.
