This is a comedic buddy adventure film that is at times completely ridiculous but what else would you expect from a movie based on the Uncharted games? "The characters don't have enough depth" people say. Well bringing in actors as talented as Tom Holland and Mark Wahlberg provide all the depth we need. If you start giving us characters filled with moral conflict and angst, or make the action more realistically violent and cruel, it wouldn't be Uncharted would it? If they'd gone that route people would be saying it had the plot of "Uncharted" but the tone of "The Last of Us", and I doubt many people would want that. The director wanted to capture the spirit of the games and IMO he nailed it. It boggles my mind that the lead critic on Rotten Tomatoes claims to have played the games but didn't like this movie.
It was so much fun watching someone come into this game cold and actually get it. During your Gwynn fight I found myself yelling "parry him!" Even as someone who's beaten this game a few times I still got emotional watching your video. Welcome to the club.
Playing Resident Evil 4 right now. That was Gamespot's game of the year in 2006. The voice acting, dialogue and story are pretty god awful in that game too. But back then people really didn't care about those things so long as the gameplay and graphics were solid. My how times have changed.
So the game gets a 6 because you don't like the cut scenes? Since when are games about the cut scenes? I guess that's what Last Of Us -where the cut scenes are the best part but the game play is highly derivative and mediocre- did to us...or at least to you all.
So how is this any different than 15 years ago when Blizzard had it's players grinding dungeons for class specific gear sets only to release Burning Crusade and have better gear drop from random creatures 2 zones in? If you're still playing WoW after all these years you should be used to grinding for weeks only to have Blizzard spit on all your work with the next expansion.
I loved WoW originally, but I hated that with the very first expansion, all the grinding I did in the original dungeons to get that elite armor set went out the window since I was quickly getting better gear simply by completely basic quests in the expansion. I stuck around for a couple of years after that but don't expect me to go back now.
Just keep in mind that Lovecraft wasn't any more racist than the vast majority of white people 100 years ago. he just left a paper trail. Most of you who think you wouldn't have been just as racist had you lived 100 years ago are kidding yourselves.
