Games and all the other things. Can they go together?

There are at least ten games I would like to play, but Im afraid I wont do anything else until I finish them.. Stalker, Oblivion, Fallout 3, Dragon Age, and such... Some games are very immersing, a require a lot of time to complete, and I like to explore every possibility in a game. What the problem is, when i played Morrowind, which is by far the most engaging game I ever played, I used play it for 11 hours straight, eat something, go to bed, then again tomorrow. I spent almost 3 months playing Morrowind, and thinking about Morowind and almost nothing else (this is the main reason why I dont play MMORPGs).

Reflecting those days now, I wonder should I play any of these before mentioned games. Is it possible to have a normal life, pass exams, meet with friends and play lets say Oblivion? But not casually, I mean real hardcore playing, paying attention to every quest, and every detail, because, this is the way games should be played.. Put it more abstract can one be a hardcore gamer, rpg-er, and have a normal life not affected by computer games? To which extent do games determine our identity? When you see a great movie, it takes 3 hours of your time max, Morrowind took 3 months of my time... Lately I tend to play some more casual games, but when i see things like Dragon age, Oblivion, Fallout I want to pause my life for at least a year, and devote myself completely to pc games.

Sometimes I think there are so many great games, yet so short life to play them all. It almost seems like a choice must be made between real life and game life... Is there an alternative, a compromise, a glimpse of hope?
