E3 so far

After the watching the three conferences I will brake it down from the good, the average and the bad with some words for each.

Starting with Sony
The good: MGS 4, Final Fantasy XIII, down loadable ps1 games for the psp, and the controller design.
The average: What psp games they showed and the tilt function for the new controller.
The bad: the price they gave $500 for 20 gig system and $600 for 60 gig.

First with the Metal Gear Solid 4 trailer is was simply bad ass with ninja Raiden and Liquid Ocelot I am sold. Psp playing old games just has me asking one question what will they do about the games that need all four L and R buttons. The tilt function I can see it work for anything that has driving, sailing, or flying and some 3D fighting games but that is it. Finally with the price what the hell. It is a hundred dollars too much for me to get at launch. I will just wait for the first price drop.

Next Nintendo
The good: Zelda for the Gamecube, DS, and Wii, new Mario game, the DS and Wii games shown and the controller
The average: Red Steel
The bad: not showing off the virtual console, the online set up, the price, or release date.

When they were showing the tennis game it looked real fun and I wanted to try it. Most of the games looked interesting and I would play them. Two things I found interesting with the controllers was that it had a speaker built in and the "nunchuck" was the same as the other controller with movement control. Red Steel for a shooter it look average and I was not impressed as I originally thought but the sword fighting part looked good. Now all I need is a price and release and I good to go.

Finally Microsoft
The good: Gears of War, Forza 2, live arcade games, and Live Everwhere
The average: Halo 3 trailer
The bad: viva pinata

Microsoft had a average show. It was a good start showing Gears of War right from the start. I liked the Forza trailer but it reminded me of a car ad for a new Honda or something like that. They showed a Halo 3 trailer but it was not as impressive as the Halo 2 was. I liked the live everywhere idea and if it works it will be very cool. Finally viva pinata, why did they waste Rare for this and not make something like a new Killer Instinct or something much better.

That is my impression so far and now I will look for the fifteen min MGS4 trailer.
