@ValedictorianXD: I am a writer myself, although much younger than he, but I am able to write a couple hundred pages (unedited of course) in a couple of weeks. Of course sometimes I write only a dozen of pages in a week. But If I am writing a book, there wasn't a month where I wrote less than 40 pages unless it's a timeout month (which I have once in a year). I am currently writting a book which has 120 finished, and around 350 unfinished pages and I wrote it all in 6 months. Of course I am not at the same level as GRRM, but I also create fantasy worlds with rich and deep lore.
The point is, writers that are on his level (sanderson) are able to write much quicker than he. From all the writers I know, and I really am an avid reader, GRRM is the slowest one. His excuse isn't old age, it's his peroccupation with other things. That's a fact.
Yes people it's his books, his writing. But still it's his job. He is making a living of it. Yes, he can afford ten lifes considering how much money he made, but statistically if he only wrote HALF a PAGE (remember writing is HIS JOB ) a DAY, he would be already done with this book. He did other things, travel alot, doing short stories, being in one hundred and fifty different projects... Us fans have the right to be angry. We are paying for his living, and as this is a story that didn't end, not a new book, it's common sense we want to see it end before martin dies. And as a obese person in almost his 70s, the chances are higher and higher... It's not a myth that martin really is one of the most, if not the slowest famous writer of all time.
