Truth is, they can afford whatever budget they need. They re-released GTA 5 so many times, so GTA 6's online and GTA 6's inevitable million re-releases will rake in the revenue for decades to come.
From what I've heard, the movie mostly just takes the name and little else. The game is great, but I see no point in crediting the writers when it's an entirely different narrative and characters.
Sounds like a real mess. Not surprised they didn't want an RPG. You could feel the self-hate [of their rpg dev identity] coming as early as ME2, if not sooner. Anthem made it official.
For data breach etc. reasons, never would I ever participate in such things. I don't use Discord anyway, but I have stopped using websites that requested this.
I have yet to see a good Resident Evil movie. The Anderson ones aren't based much on the games or characters at all. And Welcome to Raccoon City blew it with the indie budget and the terrible casting.
